Just received this in an Email... it checks out...

www.LetsSayThanks.com (http://www.LetsSayThanks.com)
XEROX IS DOING SOMETHING COOL

If you go to this web site, www.LetsSayThanks.com (http://www.LetsSayThanks.com) you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq.
You can't pick out who gets it, but it will go to a member of the armed services.

How AMAZING it would be if we could get everyone we know to send one!!! It is FREE and it only takes a second.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if the soldiers received a bunch of these? Whether you are for or against the war, our soldiers over there need to know we are behind them.

This takes just 10 seconds and it's a wonderful way to say thank you. Please take the time and please take the time to pass it on for others to do.We can never say enough thank you's.

Thanks for taking to time to support our military!

I've been on the receiving end before, and it is nice to hear that the folks at home are supportive. Good Job, Funkfool.

Not to take anything away from sending the cards out to anonymous troops via the XEROX lnik (please do this!), but I'd like to remind everyone that we have at least one member of this site who is currently deployed into either Iraq or Afghanistan.

Specifically, sabot_round (http://www.co-ar15.com/forums/member.php?u=3300), deployed to Iraq in October. I have his contact information and I'd love to share it with anyone (he has granted his permission for this) who'd be willing to send him ANYTHING POSITIVE, a card, a letter, a C*A*R*E package. I realize that it won't be able to reach him in time for Christmas, but I'm certain that it will go a long way to helping improve his morale and make him miss home a bit less.

Keep in mind that (depending on what you include in the package), a package could also help to include the morale of his fellow troops as well.

I'm putting together a package for him now. If anyone wants to drop something off to me to include in this package, I'd be happy to include it and cover the postage.

Please inundate me with PM's to obtain his contact information. Let's remind his how much we really do appreciate his service and sacrifice!

This is a great thing to do, especially around the holidays. When I was deployed (Navy) and out to sea, it was always nice to get letters from random people. Around the holidays it was great to get care packages from various elementary schools with goodies in them. We had a drawer in our shop that we would put all the goodies and letters into and if you wanted something you had to take one of the letters and write back.

Most of the letters and packages back then were addressed to "any soldier or sailor". I looked up that program and it seems that it is just an email and care package program now. It was always nice recieving a real letter written by hand from someone instead of an email, more personal I guess. We had quite a wall of drawings from elementary school kids in our shop!
