Got this today in an email. I'm going to try to just copy and paste, if I don't get the pics up, I'll edit it and attach thumbnails.

This is graphic so beware!!!

It is stupid to take a knife to a gunfight, the smart person takes a gun to any fight. Biggest gun wins!!!

Ever wonder why cops shoot people armed with knives, broken bottles, glass shards,, etc?? If an experienced knife fighter gets in close,, you may not have the opportunity to use the handgun before he can do damage. Remember the 21 foot rule? Well, don't forget the "Ego Rule".......

These photos are of an officer trained in hand-to-hand combat.

The officer figured that due to his size and fighting skills, he could disarm a knife wielding aggressor

Here is why I am forwarding these on.To all the idiots out there who always say, "Why did the cops have to shoot him? He only had a

(insert your choice of weapons here, i.e. knife, bat, club, whatever). He didn't have to be shot.

To that, I respond, "tough crap ... shoot 'em".

If an officer tells you to drop your weapon, just drop it.

If you're a retard, stupid, on crack, mental or just "scared"... too bad. No one deserves what this cop got for just doing his job. If you got a knife, then you should die... period.

This is vivid proof of how deadly people who are "only armed with a knife" can be. Some of the public think that officers should try to disarm someone armed with a knife but anyone who has had training in knife fighting will tell you - even if you win you are going to get cut. Keep this in the back of your mind when confronting someone armed with an edged weapon.

HAVE I MADE MY POINT? A PICTURE IS WORTH A THOUSAND WORDS. THIS IS WHY I AM ARMED.

Officer is very lucky... looks like the knife was plenty sharp enough to do some serious damage if the perp had any training. Any knowledge on knife used? By the cuts, looks to be about a 5 inch bowie style, straight edge.

Bottom line is correct. You WILL get cut no matter how good you are. That crap hurts, taze me anyday.

Middle pic could've been a slow death if stabbed instead of sliced, puntured lung and no quick help... nasty.

Would love to know all the details of this case if anyone has them. Says he was an officer, was he not wearing his vest? Aren't newer vests knife tested etc?

well, everything in that email about knife fighting is true.

but those pics are not of a cop, they've been floating around the net for a while.

they're on snopes as supposed photos of an airman that got in cut up in a barfight in korea.

I think they're photos of an inmate that got some cellblock retribution.

Ah, that would make more sense... I understand you'd get cut but I was sitting here wondering what type of "training" he had fo stuff that deep... But, stranger things have happened.

Been cut in a fight, glad the asshole had no training.

dang, still crazy, and still a reason to be armed! I've known about what the email said about knife fights, thankfully I haven't been in one. Came close, but situation was diffused. I did disarm a guy at a party once, he pulled a knife and I was a sober aide to the person hosting it, to keep people under control. Before he could go after the person he wanted to introduce his blade to, I snatched his arm and his knife from behind and tossed it before he even knew what happened.

Yup, and to think the folks responding to that incident, were probably not armed with much more than some OC spray.

aggressor didn't have training in those photos. Slices can be sewn up easier than holes from my training. (and don't leak as much as holes) still sucks though, still cringing from looking at those photos. We were taught to "run" if someone pulls a knife, nobody is going to win.

Slices can be sewn up easier than holes, but slices in the right places kill much quicker than holes.

This is true too.

I thought it was fake as soon as I saw it was from an email. That guy got cut up pretty badly though. I'm pretty impressed at how sharp that blade is for a prison knife.

I am also pretty sure of this, however I did see photos of an officer that I knew of, but really didn't know, after a knife fight. He was pretty badly cut up. I also have a personal friend that used to work in jails and did take a homemade shank into the arm, that was also pretty nasty.

I have been cut once. It will not happen again.

Well it looks more like a message than wanting to kill the person.

The Point of the E-mail is well taken. We are all keenly aware of the danger posed by common hand held weapons.

But who are these people who keep crafting the fake e-mails? Why can't they find actual, real world examples?

Probably the same reason that a Reality Show that featured actual reality would get canceled in the middle of the pilot episode.
