Well I guess we just need to outlaw all guns, I'll make sure I turn mine in as soon as possible.

I lost mine in an avalanche.
Damn that made it all the way down to Fountain. Big avalanche.
Don't outlaw guns, outlaw drugs. Then we won't have a drug problem here in the US. Mexico should outlaw guns so they won't have people going around gettin shot. Wait isn't it like that already. There's gotta be a lesson here somewhere.[Coffee]
Saw someting about this on boarder wars
dont out law all guns just AK's.
Oh wait to the every day person an Ak is the only guns around
"a recent case in Oklahoma City, where a former state narcotics agent pleaded guilty in such a gunrunning scheme."
How many law abiding citizens in the US would it take, making straw purchases, to ship more than 90,000 firearms to Mexico before BATFE developed some suspects?
Any idea what the drug cartels would pay for my evil looking GSG-5 with the fake suppressor?
Guns are one of the many thousands of items which are smuggled across our southern border. Smuggling goes in both directions. Maybe if the US stopped the flow of US currency moving south, some of the other things would slow down a bit as well?

Mexican cartels are getting most of their weapons from American gun dealers?
Dad gum Mexican Cartels! No wonder my local gun shop is out of full auto AK47s, RPGs and hand grenades!

I get frustrated at Sportsman's Warehouse when I explain that I have this cam for my NV scope for the RPG and why the hell cant they just order the launcher to go with it?
Damn salesman just gets that deer in the headlights look. ;)

Authorities say the straw buyers are paid up to $200 per weapon and cite a recent case in Oklahoma City, where a former state narcotics agent pleaded guilty in such a gunrunning scheme.
well I say we adopt a law that prohibits all state officers from having guns because that's obviously a problem!

It always boggles my mind when .gov types complain about existing laws not working or being enforceble to keep such and thus safe, so they come up with an obvious solution...more laws that are even harder to enforce! [Bang]
its just so obvious when you think about it! Worthless jerks

+1 this ^^^
Mexican cartels are taking advantage of U.S. gun laws to buy thousands of weapons that are being used in an escalating drug war that has claimed more than 31,000 lives since late 2006, experts and law enforcement officials tell NBC News.
"Mexican cartels are taking advantage of U.S. gun laws to buy thousands of weapons"
Spoken like a true anti-gunner! Um, no, even if any of these guns are coming from the U.S., they aren't "taking advantage of U.S. gun laws", they are VIOLATING (i.e. breaking) them - PERIOD.
Do the cartels need to use a FFL for those transfers?
Is there a volume discount for the transfer fee?
This story is a diversion. The US is responsible for all of the ills in Mexico and this is just one more example. If we didn't buy their drugs, they wouldn't need us to sell them guns to eliminate the competition and intimidate the government so they could sell more drugs to us.
Guns, drugs, and money. If the US could pull one of those legs off the stool, the thing won't stand. I vote for halting the flow of US currency to Mexico.

My Wife works at a wire transfer outlet.
She says she handles about 3 grand at the end of the month. All heading to Mexico.
Each store has Multiple shifts, multiple locations, so multiply that.
Mexico can give em back anytime they want.

Why do we even entertain this propaganda? The main issue is BORDER SECURITY. Secure the border, and you will reduce illegal immigration, drug, and 'gun smuggling' issue. Tada!

Because that would require work and money!
Those in office just want to get there jobs back and the best way to go about that is to not spend money on that stuff but pass worthless laws making it look like you really wanted to.
Its all the damn americians crossing over the border illegaly.
Uh wait....

This. Finally they are searching cars going south. It wasn't too long ago southbound cars could basically cruise right through. Stop the money, everything else will follow. And also the US.gov needs to stop sending small arms and support to the Mexican government. It is a fact that all of the drug cartels use personnel that are ex Mexican military and police and you know they don't turn in their weapons when they go dirty.

Does anybody see the true reason for articles as this?
They are setting the table.
Our 2cnd Amendment Rights are the main course on the menu.

Yes.
What the idiots don't understand is that their 1sts Amendment Rights go under the bus with them.
They all assume they'll be part of the elite who will be exempt from the rules but they'll be standing in line along with the rest of the sheeple.
