View Full Version : Referndum C&D
Are you voting yes or no?
I'm voting NO. You may want to take a look at the organizations supporting C&D, you can see them at http://www.voteyesonc-d.com/modules/xyp4all/viewcat.php?cid=607, even if it doesn't pass you can still vote with your $$ by not patronizing the places that supported it. Of particular interest I think are the non-profit organizations that are supporting it, including several United Ways (Larimer County, Mile Hi, Pueblo, Pikes Peak) and others, may want to reconsider giving to them and letting them know you don't appreciate them advocating for raising taxes on everyone, including those they think they are helping in the community.
Already voted over a week ago. No all the way. Have you noticed how they're pimping the extra dollars collected by promising more money for seniors, education, labor unions, etc? I would like to know how they can legally say within the description of the referendum that it's not a tax increase? Of course it is!
I was born at night, but not last night.

No and hell no. Not a tax increase? True - the percentage doesn't change. However, the fact that they KEEP our freaking REFUNDS does, and that ain't kosher with me.

Supportors say it only gives them the ability to keep excess revenue. Well excuse me but wouldn't excess revenue indicate they have more then enough money for the budget? And wouldn't excess revenue mean they are collecting too much from us?

If it doesnt pass one of the things they are talking about droping to save money is the instant background checks for firearms. So as far as what this means when buying a new firearm I dont know.
...but they can afford to give state employees a 6% raise?
TABOR limits the budget. Apparently the pols can't figure out what is important. Their solution to fixing public school education is to keep throwing money at the problem...and every kid needs a computer. When I was in school I learned how to read and teach myself new things. The learning never stops. If they're too damn busy with social engineering and not learning to read, the learning never starts. Too many people with their hands out expecting something they didn't earn. :?
OK, I'm off the soap box...for the moment.

Not all employees received a 6% raise. Not all employees received a raise at all for the last couple of years.
This is really disturbing.....
How is it that we all seem to agree on this?
You aren't suggesting we're all part of the vast right-wing conspiracy, are you?
Besides, we know how the lefties love the black rifle 'cause it's all cuddly and cute and they understand that people can be trusted to use them wisely.

won't matter. if you overpay what the tax rate is you get that back. you won't get back the delta between what the state though population and inflation growth was though. If you don't pay that amount month to month you pay it in the end.
but still..
C No limited govt is more efficient. Seen no "necessary" things cut yet.
D Hell No long term debt to solve short term issues is unwise.

Local radio just said C passed 52% to 48% and D failed 51% to 49%.
For what it's worth, Garfield County handily defeated both.
