Best pain ointment?

I ripped my two lateral tendons on my right foot away from my ancle and tore two of my ligaments that attach to the outer side of my heel. So, with that, I was wondering what the best pain relieving ointment or rub is?

in an attempt to be helpful- what does your Dr suggest?

Wifes mom is a doctor, air cast or splint are my best choices for mobility with it all jacked up. Perscription painkillers and I have never got along, so that is out.
