She had to be taken from work in the ambulance for very bad pain in her side/stomach. Maybe kidney stone? They just did a cat scan so hopefully we will know soon. Of course I just dropped all my cash on a very nice Colt last night. I am sure this will cost a bucket of gold with my insurance. But hopefully she is ok and out soon! Then its off to rob the bank [Bang]
damn trav, let me know if you need anything.

Kidney stones have been said to hurt more than giving birth.[Shock]

Man, sorry to hear that. Hope she's OK. Sounds (to my uneducated ear) like possible kidney stone or appendicitis. I had similar pain and it was appendicitis. Let us know, and I'll keep you guys in my prayers.
Minus the ambulance ride, a Kidney stone costs around 5000 with no surgery, just meds. That is the cost without insurance. Surgery obviously cost more. Sorry to hear that. I went through the same thing with my fiance. Hope she recovers soon.
I hope everything is alright.

gall stones. kidney stones are more central. my gall stones put a serious pain into my right side, floored me cold. the kidney stone luckily was small enough i was only crying like a premenstrual teen for 20-30 min.
hope everything is well.

So the cat scan showed it was a kidney stone. Ya she was in so much pain that 10 minutes after she called me to come get her from work her boss called the ambulance for her. She is better for now after the morphine, hopefully it passes quickly. Now its off to get medications.

TRLCavscout,
If you're going to have trouble paying for the bills on top of your insurance I have all of the cash from the Colt still sitting here. I don't have an issue with getting you your money back if this is going to put you in a serious financial bind. Just send me a PM if you need to work something out...or call. Family comes before hobbies and I can understand the situation. I can hold onto the rifle for you until next month if need be. Prayers sent and best of luck with your Mrs's.

I had a history of Kidney Stones when I lived in Az. 3 times. No fun. Mine were caused by too much calcium. I drank alot of milk. Not enough water. If you can get the stone, have it analyzed to see what it is composed of.
The last time I had them, it took 35 days to pass a stone 5/32 in dia. Beyond the pain pills, the only thing that helped was the jacuzzi tub filled with scalding hot water. To the point it was almost burning me.
Best wishes for you two.
Hope your wife recovers quickly

FWIW I spent a weekend in the hills on Labor day with CMS, Bettendorf and a few others burning up some ammo.

When you get it let me know. I'm not going to have the cash to purchase that SR-25 for a few months anyways...so the offer stands if need be. Hope she's doing alright and keep us posted.
Don't worry...if she's anything like my wife...she'll blame it on you for dragging her on a 3 1/2 hr car ride to buy a gun!

Timing is everything.
So last night a bit before 10PM, my 21yo daughter calls my wife - in absolute tears. She too was having lower abdominal pain and had experienced kidney stones before so she was sure that's what it was.
My daughters boyfriend took her to the hospital where my wife met them (I was told to just stay home).
They got an IV into my daughter fairly quickly but it took them 3 - 4 hours to do a CAT scan, but they verified that she has 5 kidney stones (a couple about 5mm, and 3 about 1mm).
They got her some good drugs so now she's just uncomfortable, not in pain. They didn't leave the hospital until after 0400 this morning.
Trlcavscout - I hope it's just stones for your wife (while very painful, at least it's not usually life threatening) and that she starts feeling better soon.
OK so not to hi jack thread, but how do you disolve/gid rid of kidney stones without surgery?

Without surgury, all you can really do for them is "pass them". What they typically do these days for really large ones is use a ultrasonic targeting to shatter the stones. For some reason, they really don't like to do that procedure.
According to the doctor my daughter saw last night, stones are caused by too much calcium, oxalate, and uric acid. Oxalate is found in abundance in chocolate and leafey green vegetables. Not drinking enough fluids is also a major contributing factor (this is definitely a factor for my daughter).
There is a lot of info online about kidney stones. Here is one site for at home treatment: http://www.webmd.com/kidney-stones/kidney-stones-home-treatment
I did a Google search for "kidney stones at home treatment".
The hospital perscribed Motrin and percocet for my daughter.
man trlcavscout
i know how you feel
my wife had stones a few months back and i think i was panicking more than she was!
they wound up bustin the stones with ultrasound?i cant think of the name of the procedure-but afterwards she was doing better, slight discomfort when she was passing the remainder but nothing like the pain she had
good thing it want somthing serious!
Hang in there Bro!

I hope she feels better. The first kidney stone is very scary. The pain comes out of no where. My first I went straight to the hospital. I don't even bother to go anymore. I just take a pain pill and drink a lot of water.
Something else, caffeine promotes kidney stone growth. Even though I work for Pepsi, I only drink one a day or none a day, but drink 4 to 6 bottles of Aquafina.
Oh and awesome offer other guy. Very classy.

Yes they are very expensive with surgery. My wife, two years ago, had the lithotripsy done to break up a stone 2/3 the size of a dime and from beginning to end it would have cost us close to $48,000 without insurance.
trlcavscout hope your wife recovers fast!

+1 for cms81586.
kidney stone and gout is one of the most painful thing I've faced.
I drink more water. I try to prevent eating too rich purine foods.
I also take 200-400% of daily recommandation of folic acid.

+500 on the Gout
Never had a stone, I am also smart enough that I have not shot myself in the foot (Yet).
I can only imagine that if I had shot myself in the foot with a .50AE or 454 Cassul, that's what Gout feels like.
No More shellfish,
cut WAAY back on Ham,(twice a month Maybe)
ALLOT more water
Purines way back.
If you think you can't get gout, Think again.
and once you have it, its for life.
You may not have a flare... but its there.

We are home now and starting the clean up from x-mas we never got done [ROFL1] 2 kids trashed our house opening presents and then the poor things had to go to grandmas before they could even play with the new stuff. So they are going through presents, I am cleaning and the wife is resting!
My neighbors across the street (he is a CCW'er but not on here) who are always going above and beyond actually went to the grocery store and bought easy to make meals for me and the kids and soup for the wife and left it on our door step!!! Between them and some guys on here I believe their are still good people left, sometimes you wonder [Tooth] Thanks to all.
Worst part is when we went to the ER last night they did an x-ray but no cat scan and said the stone was still lodged in there, but this morning in surgery they couldnt find it so its anybodys guess if she is better or if it will come back a 3rd time?
