I would not hold my breath for an XD in 45 ACP. If it shows, I bet its 2007 or real late 2006.

I never would have suspected that you could get the .45 ACP in a 9mm form factor. I was told you had to have a .45 GAP to pull that off. :roll:

The Croatian HS2000 was a good value. The Croatian XD is not, IMHO. Who'd a thunk a Springfield Armory rollmark was worth more than $150?

Dang I kick myself for not buying that HS2000 when I saw it. The XD's were just coming out and a dealer had a few HS2000's left for way cheap. I should have bought them all..... :(

I absolutely love my XD9 and XD40. The XD is one of the best pistols I own. I frequently recommend it to friends. Even with the Springfield markup it's still one of the best values out there. I also wish I had gotten one of the HS2000's when they were available but oh well.

I don't have any idea about pricing either. Looks like they've got quite a marketing campaign behind it so I expect them to start appearing in large numbers early next year. Depends on how fast those Croatian manufacturers can crank 'em out. :D

As with any new pistol introduction I'm a bit leary of going out and buying the first production run. Hopefully some reviews and 1000+ round tests will start appearing soon.

I can't wait to get my hands on one and try it out.

The last 45 I had that was on a 9mm/40 frame was crap. I dont think I will try it again.

I'll happily shoot any one that someone decides to buy and bring to the shoot for one of those 1000+ round test. I imagine that we could muster up the ammo and the folks to hit the 1k mark :)

Or, alternatively, you can just get 5 of your friends, a Sig 220, a ton of magazines, and a gift from black hills ammunition and do at 10,000 round report.

I talked to my local gun shop and they said the springfield had them right now, but sprinfield was putting a 90 day wait on them so they could take orders. They said I could go ahead and order one right now, but I kinda want to look at it before I buy it. My gun store I go go is usually on the money, so I will wait and see !

What kind of price are they quoting for the XD45? Any frontrange shops have any good pricing on ording? or FFL folks?

When I talked to my local gun shop they said that they were going to be about the same as all the other xd's, I figure a couple of dollars more, just because it's new. The gunsmith at the store said that Springield has already contacted him and asked if he was going to service the xd's and carry parts and he told them that they would, The gunsmith said that the rep said it would be more like six months before all the orders are filled, so go figure !

I have to agree. When you think about how they were selling HS2000's for $250. How much of that ~$530 is the "Springfield" name. R&D costs and marketing costs aside.... They're making a killing.

Guess somebody has to pay for Rob Leatham's ammo. :D

I know what yall mean. I called another supplier today about the xd. This supplier supplies most of mississippi's law enforcement, and they said they were expecting to be around the 400 dollar mark, but He did not make it clear if that price would be a letterhead gun or a civilian. I am just going to wait a few months and see how everyone likes them before I get one.
