Hey, we all know the south shoots are always perfect. :P  Karl thenomexundiesgod Mann.
I'm starting to notice a pattern here.... seems the south guys have one of the haliburton wx changing machines OR are in cahoots with the VP.
i'm a new guy that just picked up an AR15... i'll try to be there... i've already read the rules... might also bring a friend that is also a new AR owner...
what kind of targets should i bring?

Bring whatever kind of targets you want but we have one rule If you bring it with you you take it out. So if you bring a computer and monitor. You will have to pick up all the glass and little chuncks of plastic and take them with you.
People bring paper, jugs full of water, tennis balls, golf balls, shaving cream (Those are fun havent shot them in a while) Spinning targets.
If you bring paper targets you will aslo have to bring your own target stand.
...clay pigeons, pumpkins...
OK, IF the weather cooperates, . everybody from up north, meet Me at the Castle Rock McDonald's on Founders Parkway, The first exit into CR, at no later than 0840. If You need the directions it should be in one of the stickys up top.

Greg, how was the road between where I left you and Sedalia last time? The way I went was nasty washboard and crappy asphalt/gravel and finally came out in Pine, and then I had to go down 285 from there (which was admittedly fun, in the twisties).
Might be a good way to go down rather than I-25 again.
Brian
Wow! It looks like you took the scenic route. I think it would have been quicker if you had gone the same way I did.
It was pretty gnarly right after I turned off. Some twisty and very narrow tight blind turns. I hit pavement after about 8 miles, but it was twisty and the speed limit was like 30 for a ways. There was another turnoff that we missed that appears to be wider and paved, at least for more of the trip. I later connected to it and saw the sign going the other way for Deckers. I may try it straight through from Sedalia next time, but that will depend on the weather.
I'll ask for that day off of work...
So shaving cream is allowed?
I wonder if hair spray would make a nice fireball :P

1- If they are nearly empty, Snacko use to bring them, Quite fun.
2- NOTHING, REPEAT, NOTHING, that will produce a "fireball" in the area that We are going to. It is part of the burn area and it just reopened this summer so We DO NOT want to do anything that might get it closed again.
anyone plan on sighting in their AR that day?
marlin, what do i need to bring besides my AR and ammo?
Well Kwando, I do have some sight in targets so, If You want to bring some other type that will work, and a target stand of some type. If the weather is decent, We might bring the grill and do lunch, We're not as "gung Ho" on lunch during the winter though. Make that call as the Date aproaches. You might want to bring drinks and something to eat anyway.
I'll be working at getting the iron sights where I like 'em.
I will be attending if I am invited. Are other rifles welcome also? I have a HS precision HTR with .338's that ide like to give a workout.
Sure, Your invited. :D Pretty much We shoot a wide range, from sling shots to the .50BMG.

You didn't tell me about the sling shots!
I haven't been to the new WP shooting area, is the above .338 gonna be able to really stretch it's legs?
One side runs about 250-275 yrds, So its not bad.
Count me in for this shoot. I've got some new toys to try out. :D
Someone must have been very good this year.
Phsyco... I'll have my .308 with me again, I'll bring a spotting scope so hopefully we can both give that 250+ line a run.
I'll be happy to spot and help adjust for anyone sighting in with iron sites on an AR. Hell may even go back and read the instructions :)

thanks for the offer but I won't actually be attending unfortunately. I get off work at 0700 and have to be back at 2100 and going shooting in the middle of the day would make for a really long night.
Hopefully I can get off these graveyards one way or another.

If everything is burned what is the problem? We wont have anything to burn? :P I guess that means I cant bring any tracers?
That's exactly what I was thinking.... lol.
I plan on getting my sights on target.
what should i bring for targets? just a few stakes, cardboard for backing, and paper targets? I have a box of clays also...
if i can get enough phone books soaked overnight i would like to do some expansion testing some .40 caliber HPs
That'll work! Hopefully it won't be so windy that the paper targets will be difficult to keep up.
I’m new here, but I would like to come along. Is there a meeting spot in Woodland Park?
I don’t have a lot of ammo to burn, but it would be fun.

It`s time :D
where did you get the table at?
What he said. I want to get my rifles sighted in, but laying down on the ground isn't as fun as it used to be. Well, maybe it's the 'getting back up' part that's not so much fun.
I got one at Sams for $25. Its about 4'X 2' works well.
Oh I wandered down there Karl.. I'm just shy from time to time... maybe it was pistol intimidation.
Gotta go grab one of those tables and a decent sized tarp for brass catchin'

GMG= Green Mountain Guns it depends on what ammo you want I will probably buy a case of Wolf for 120.00. I can't see feeding my M16 good ammo. It's just a toy so the cheaper the ammo the better. In my case I have a RDIAS so if I blow the gun up, wear it out ect. I don't give a s**t I will just move the sear to a new host and start over.
As you can tell I didn't make it tonight had to stay late will try tommorow.

Still planning on going. I'll wait for Karls report for sure but, at the moment, I ready and prepared.
If its windy though I may turtle, I had enough of the wind for the week. :(
About 4 inches of snow in the Springs, and still looking at a high of mid 30's Sat.

At this point I'm keeping an eye on the weather. I am planning to go. I don't mind a little cold, but I don't want to drive back in ice and snow. I spent a lot of time last night getting everything ready so I'm hoping for at least 45 degrees.

Warmer and sunnier today for sure. But not much melting going on yet. Snow isn't so bad that we couldn't shoot, but temperature will be the question. I'm in if others are too. We meet at McD's at 9:30 then. I'll post a road condition report this evening as well as a snow melt estimate. The last 1/4 mile up to the shooting spot will be entertaining. Karl.

I don't think it will be to bad as far as temp go's. I figure if the snow is a problem to get that 1/4 mile to the shoot spot for those with cars we can put everything in the back of my truck and everybody can pile in my truck and I can take them the last 1/4 mile.
I have chains for all 4 wheels trust me I can get us in there.

I actually figure the higher profile vehicles can go in first and then us low riders should have no problem. Karl.

OK, headed out for the day, be back later with a weather/road condition update. I'll be stopping by Wally World and buying all the 9mm they have too. People desiring 9mm ammo from any of the Springs Wal-Marts will want to beat me there. I'll hit 8th street first, then head north to Chapel Hills, circle around to the three on Powers & Platte and then down south to Fountain. Should be fun. Karl.
OK, OK, just kidding, but I will be buying another 500 rounds today and some 38/357 for my new cannon.

Oh yeah, thanks for reminding me. We normally meet outside on the west side of the building. In the "RV" parking area. Some of us go pig out too. Oh, BTW, save scraps for the mascot (gotta take care of our special friends too) . I drive an Red '89 Toyota Celica ST 2D Coupe with Co. plates "UZI-SMG". I might be kinda hard to spot though, I'll be wearing my camouflage.   Karl.

Right now in Denver it is the same temp as it is supposed to be tommorw at the shoot. I was outside in a t-shirt not bad at all. :D
Right now in the Springs, it's sunny, 28*, no wind ( down right nice ), but, there is a lot of slush on the ground, that is going to freeze tonight.
Personaly I'm thinking of all the wet & muddy it's going to be tomarrow if it warms up.

As some of you may have noticed, I absolutely DETEST cold, so I'm gonna have to bow out of this one. If I hadn't gone with my sister last weekend I might still brave it, but I got my itch scratched for a while and don't need to go tomorrow.
Let's hope for warmth in February.
Brian
Will check back here in the morning, and see how cold it feels outside. Single digits on the east side of town already, but only 20 around here. Oh yeah, what if I get my Jeep stuck
Also, anyone know if the Long's on 31st has 308 in the cheap battlepacks? Have something new (as of tonight) but no ammo. The Academy & PP store had them for a while, not sure anymore.
I spent 3 years shooting at Ft Richardson Alaska, I'm still in.

pussies!
Warm ones. :P
As it was, things wouldn't have worked out even if I had the time.
My back and neck were bad all day :( and ended up spending most of the day laying down - I doubt that I would have even been able to lift my 03A3 let alone all the others plus ammo.
