Well guys it's been an enjoyable six months on the board. I was planning on staying in Colorado for quite a while this time but my wife got a job offer on Capitol Hill that we can't pass up. We're moving to Falls Church, VA there is no way in hell I was going to live in the District. It's been a crazy week, she got the offer Thursday and we're leaving a week from today. Job starts first Monday of January. Seems like every time I move back to Colorado I can't even make it a year in the state before I jam out to some far off location. I'm sure I'll be back in a few years. Until then [Beer]

X2. Your posts are always well articulated and contain great input on whatever subject is at hand.

There's no reason you can't continue to be an active member on the forums though right? C'mon man . . . don't just cut us off cold turkey!!! [Tooth]

I'm glad your wife was able to find a good employment opportunity with everything going on these days. Congrats to you guys for that.

Do you have to jump through any gun law hoops out there? I'm not familiar with the laws out there at all.

Hey, they have Internet access there too ya know. No reason to leave the board! Good luck to y'all, I lived in that area for a couple of years myself (Fairfax, Chantilly, Herndon), it's real pretty around the countryside there. We enjoyed the area, at least the parts outside of the lunatic asylum of the metro area. Spend as much time as possible out in the country to save your sanity. Drive the small country roads and visit the little towns, go exploring the "real America" of the area and its history, escape the city and soak in the flavor of the countryside. It's well worth it! My biggest regret is not visiting the Smithsonian though.

Adios... but you'll be back... Don't have to leave the forums just because you're leavin' the locale...

Good to meet you man, and best of luck. Even though you mentioned you're not living in DC proper, there are some nice parts of town there. Great good scene there as well.

Good luck to you and your family, OgenRwot.
Both ya'll are welcome to be my guest's at AGC Marriottsville Gun Range outside Baltimore, Maryland. And then you can tell this forum how bad of a shot I am. One year membership is about $165. It is an outdoor gun range, with trap, archery, pointblank to 50 yd pistol and machine gun range, 100 yd rifle, pistol, shotgun and a 200 yd pit range with metallic silhouettes pistol and a proposed 300 yd range with 3 gun matches.
There is a 1 mile rifle range at beautiful Seneca Rocks, West Virginia.
At Quantico, Virginia, Marine Base, they have public invited 1,000 yd rifle matches with grand prizes like: $3,000 sniper rifles. There also is a rifle range at Fort Meade, Md and another near Frederick Md.
The Wash. DC, Balt. metro areas, have the worst traffic congestion in the nation.
The Potomac River is a largemouth bass fishing hotspot around D.C.

If ya ever need a nice fancy but not too snooty place to go out to eat, check out Central Michel Richard. Good stuff. My lady used to manage private dining there http://www.centralmichelrichard.com/

Just think, when you eventually move back to Colorado, you will appreciate the cost of living and lebensraum that much more after your time in NoVA.

Falls Church is nice and with the extension on the Metro going from W Falls Church through Tysons out to Dulles, you won't always have to sit in traffic.

Try to hit all of the cultural things in DC (all of the Smithsonians, Kennedy Center, etc...). Enjoy all of the battlefields (Civil War and Revolutionary War). Take a few trips to B'more, Philly and New York. All those places are great when you don't have to live there. Last, pick a beach, Ocean City, MD, Rehoboth, DE, or Nags Head, NC. Sailing, body surfing and walking the boardwalk don't happen very often in Colorado. The snow will still be in the mountains for skiing when you get back.

Safe travels.

I'm sure that you can see just how appreciated you are here on the site.

All of the posters are correct, just because you're moving doesn't mean you can't stay active here on this site.

Make your physical move, but keep your mouse pointed here. If ERNO can come here and post, you can too, and we actually want to hear what YOU have to say! [Coffee]
