Who could say no to a face like this?

Now I just need a scope worthy to sit atop this beast.

Caught this on a good buy up in Montana. $250-$300 cheaper than everywhere that I could find in Colorado.

I don't know how much I should spend for the scope. I want a good one...up to around 20x. Perhaps a good Nikon or Leupold. I dont think I will go with anything like Swarovski...they are just wayy to much $$.

As for the replacement shoulder, I have not fired this myself yet but from all reviews I have read and people I have talked to, that muzzel brake REALLY helps. It is supposed to take the recoil down to a somewhere between .243 and .308, depending on what you read or who you talk to. I guess the proof will be in the shooting.

Finally got to take the toy out over the weekend.

Boy it shoots NICE. That muzzle brake takes the recoil down to nothing. My buddy had is .308 there, and the recoil of the .338 was about 1/2 of the .308.

I was just breaking it in. Nice slow shots, and following Armalite's break-in instructions (clean after each shot for the 1st 10 shots, then clean after every third shot up to 30, after every 5 shots up to 50, and then after every 10 up to 100 - made for a sllllooowwww day)

Anyway, I wasnt worrying too much about accuracy. I was just putting rounds down range to get it broken in.

Anyway here is a good group - sub moa out of the box.

If it is shooting this nice now, I cant wait till I get practiced up and get the barrel broken in good.

And if Randy reads this, thanks for letting us shoot your new .50. That was AWESOME.
