So I love to tinker with stuff. I have wanted to try my hand at stippling. These are my first practice pieces:

First is a true stipple (dots)

Second is more of a "tree bark" (not technically stippling)

Looking for some constructive criticism.

My Glock 22 is the most likely candidate...

My first one I did a very deep tree bark pattern. My sloppy pattern rotated from vertical to horizontal, and I felt like the horizontal pattern made my fingers want to slip off the grip. I think the vertical pattern you have should serve you well. My comment is....not grippy enough? Go deeper. Too gripy? Sand or go more shallow next time.

How do YOU like it so far?

I LOVE it! (tree bark) both aesthetically and functionally. The dots (actual stipple) feel good too, but close to RTF sort of way. I am going to practice a bit more before I start carving fo' real. Thanks for the solid advice!

I did two of my partner's Glock 27's and I did my own Kahr in a stipple pattern. We both like them much better and get a pretty good grip on them now. Our range quals have been better since I did it.

The only complaint has been the stipple is rougher to the skin. My partner wears them using IWB holsters and I use an ankle holster. A little chaffing going on. Otherwise, very happy with the result!
