Im missing being home for Xmas due to work...when I get home in a couple weeks, I want to take my wife to a great hotel and a night on the town.

I was thinking the Marriot at Cherry Creek, or The Westin, the idea is to stay downtown for ease of access to a nice restaurant and dancing. I wanna be able to pay small cab fares to and from , but i want a really nice hotel with a huge bathroom, maybe a in the room jacuzzi. I am willing to spend $400 a night etc. Its kinda my small gift to my wife for me being gone and also getting her out of the house toa great place for the night.

I can vouch for the Brown Palace...1st class all the way.

Funny story...

In 2000 I received an award from an organization for some cop work I'd done the previous year. They had a big banquet at the Brown Palace and gave all the "awardees" a room and allowed one guest to stay as well. I took my wife...

Anyway...the rooms had these huge, over-stuffed down comforters on the beds. They must've been 10" tall with all the feathers they had stuffed in them.

The wife comes outta the shower as I was getting dressed for the banquet. She was doing the sort of thing that makes us (most of us, anyway) really like women...rubbing good smelling lotions and such all over herself.

She said something about how she just wanted to jump right in the middle of that big, cozy comforter. Next thing I know she's off her feet and lands square in the middle of the bed...right on the comforter.

It looked like about 1000 geese just exploded inside the room. There were feathers everywhere. No...everywhere. We were ankle deep in feathers. When the air cleared enough that I could see her, there she was...standing next to the bed, feathers stuck to her from head to toe because of all the lotion, with a "WTF???" look on her face.

We had to call housekeeping to come clean the place up. I asked for a lint roller and it took the entire thing to get all the feathers off my uniform.

You ain't seen nothin' til you've seen the woman you love covered in feathers!

Yeah, I haven't stayed in the Brown Palace, but when my wife and I moved here my dad said he could come and visit TO STAY IN THE BROWN PALACE AGAIN! I felt so loved! Aw well, he likes my sister more anyways.

I'm not sure Cherry Creek would be good, not much to do down there for dancing etc. The new Hyatt downtown looks really nice, you might check into it.

Check out Hotel Monaco downtown. Cool place, good location. Magnolia is a good one. Those are both a little more boutique too, so they're a little more stylized and cool

The brown palace is awesome. I stayed there a while back. had dinner, and then went for a couple massage. 60 minutes with a hot bath right after. it was a great night, but that night was expensive. lol

Brown Room $299
Massage $400
Dinner at the Palace Arms $350
Grabbing a ponytail while getting a BJ on the side of a jacuzzi at the Brown Palace? Priceless

I vote brown palace..lol
