Is mostly a non-stocking dealer, so don't expect to fondle a bunch of stuff here.
I've recieved good service and knowlege, but I suspect the dealer is moody because of how rapidly his prices fluctuate. He will sometimes beat every one elses prices, other times he will state 20% or more than every one else.
He also stated that he will not order assault type or military style rifles or parts, yet usually has a 1917 enfield or garand on display.
If something is in his display cabinet for sale it is usually marked for a quick sale, if it is what you want.
I thought the place had changed hands, is it still the older fellow (Jim?) running the place?
Had a couple of transfers done through for a reasonable $20, but never saw anything on the shelf that I couldn't resist.

last time I was in there...6 months ago...old man (Jim?) was there training I thought a new salesman.
I've bought 2 new from him, ordered, and 2 out of the case...decent to work with, just very inconsistent on pricing....lately...prices are pretty high on quotes.
I started using Liberty out of Calhan for transfers...close by to me and fair.

He also stated that he will not order assault type or military style rifles or parts,
Well then, he obviously doesn't need my money. The firearms community has enough problems with government NAZI lowlifes trying to take our guns, we don't need a left wing sympathizer helping them in our midst. Karl.

You're not going to belive this, but I agree!

that's kinda the purpose of these reviews, huh?
Just passing on my experience, not a judgement.

+10000000000 I would not spend one damn cent in that place if that is his attitude.
The Gun Vault is no longer, last I was there a guy selling parts only had moved in. Said he was going to get his FFL though, that was a few months ago though.

The Gun Vault is closed has been since the beginning of Sept. The owner wasa hunting guy that didn't see a reason for "military style weapons in the public hands". The guy there now is a gun show dealer for mostly mil surplus now and is looking to get FFL, with a side business for ammo on gun boards. I live near by and stop in and talk couple times a month with him. I know sells AK kits now, SKS parts, AR parts, as well as various parts. He's a good guy and if he does get his FFL he'll stock semi-auto rifles and mil surplus types as well. I usually get better deals than he does at gun shows and he's a good guy. I'm sure I'd buy from him if he gets his FFL.
how long has he been there? ive been by a few times and the place has been dead empty. the last time i was by there was maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago.
anything on this? i was just there this weekend, granted it was sunday, but the place was still empty. what gives? am i going to the right place? id really like to find a place in town that sells a good supply of milsups. when i was back in michigan between dunhams and williams, i could pretty much get whatever i wanted.
I haven't been there in awhile. To get there you go into the strip mall just west of the corner of constitution and powers, on the southwest corner. The part of the mall that faces east (towards mcdonalds) is where gunvault is/was.
yeah thats where im going, and the place is empty, there is still the gun vault sigh up. they said theres someone else in there, but ive seen no evidence of that. just wondering if anyone has any info. it would be nicce the have a place to get parts kits and a decent selection of milsups from. plus maybe someone that has ammo for a good price also.

I would think that Springs would be a pretty profitable location for a good gun shop with all the military personnel in the area... :?:
well theres specialty, they have everything you could want, if its new. the have a bit of of milsurp, but not a lot that ive seen. we had dunhams back in michigan and they, surprisingly had a really good selection. sks, ak, centme, saiga, mosins and more. i have not seen a shop arould here that has anything close to that.
Try Big 5, They have a decent selection. I know there is one down there I went past it going home from the AK build.
i know big 5, the have a bit, but mostly bolt action stuff and skss, i already have one. i like semis, fals, centmes, that type a thing. a parts kit migit be nice.
i was just wanting to check out what he had but it seems to me threres no one in there.
but really whats the deal with the guy in the gun vault now? is he still there and when is he opened and what does he have.

I'm pretty sure he moved back to his basement and doing just gun shows and internet but doesn't have website. Prettysure the overhead of a storefront was more than he could do.
