I'm guessing there will be signing up for IDPA membership at the match but i'm a bit confused on how "Must have a classifier" works for first time shooters.

Another question, I Shot a classifier 3 years ago and scored Sharpshooter? but wasn't a IDPA member at the time, if picked up a membership does that qualifier become null&void?

No, there will not be a sign up for IDPA membership at the match. With "First time shooter" I meant IDPA Members that have never shot a major match or are classified as Novice shooters. Some major matches won't allow you to attend if you are a Novice shooter even though you are an IDPA member. If your are interested in a membership go to www.idpa.com (http://www.idpa.com)

As far as the classifier goes, by IDPA rules you must have shot the classifier within one year of the match date. Which would be as of 05/2010. IDPA requires that you shoot the classifier in whatever division you choose once a year. So to answer your question, no, your classifier would not work. But, please get signed up as a member, go to a local club shoot the classifier and send in your app. Hope to see you there. Thank you for showing interest in IDPA.
