Looking to travel to Italy and was wondering if anyone had a good thoughts or good suggestions on travel agents.

Just so you don't think I'm ignoring you, Ill post simply that I can't offer any suggestions whatsoever.

Good luck and have fun. Avoid Naples (Naples=the dirty crotch of Italy).

You should definitely check out Punta Balbianello, next to Bellagio at Lake Como (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lake_Como) though. It was a site location (http://www.bellagio.co.nz/starwars/index.html)for the filming of Star Wars: Attack of the Clones. Gorgeous and romantic views.

Do you speak Spanish? I took a trip to Venice when I was studying in Spain and found it easy enough to get around, find things to do, and navigate the city without a guide or anything. For all my studies, I used sites like Travelocity, Expedia, Priceline, etc. You can also check directly with the airlines and see if you can get some left over or unclaimed, last minute flights which a lot of times, the price has dropped drastically.

I can get you the number of a travel agent, but if you're willing to put in the effort, you'll probably find better deals through TFOG's website.

I have spent a lot of time in Italy. Neat country, friendly people with tons of history.

Naples might be kinda dirty, but getting over to Pompeii is worth it, without any doubt.

Rome is a fun town. I like it much more than paris.

If you can make it to Sicily, go. My favorite part of the Med/Italy. Its kinda like being in Greece without the stinky people. Sicily has hands down the best food on that side of the entire planet.

Uncle Sam is my travel agent. He pays me. Kinda cool.

If you can speak Spanish, you can get by in Italy.

Thanks everyone,

I don't speak any spanish. I also have not traveled anywhere off of North America. So I am not really sure what to do when I arrive in another country. For example, I want to see Rome, Pompei, Venice, etc. How do I set it up to do those things? What should I read before hand if I set the trip up myself?
