Boy, what a fricken vacation.

Had a some time off planned out this week - nothing fancy just handle a few things around the house, take care of an exhaust leak on the Jeep, and zero in a virgin rifle; pretty much just takin it easy for the holidays. Thursday night I leave work on top of the world, Friday morning woke up feeling sicker than a dog, I manage to get down to jensen's to pick up a nice Valor they had on sale and I haven't had much time to look at it. Soooo, I was sicker than a dog all week and started feeling better yesterday minus a slight stomach ache, stomach ache turns into severe abdominal pain, started getting feverish, and overall I felt like I got run down by a damn bus. I try to avoid going to the hospital whenever possible but after burning up (103&#176;) and not being able to even walk I finally gave into the wifes persistence and came to good sams. Found out my appendix was --><--- this close to bursting so it was pulled @ 0600hrs today.

Glad I didn't just decide to tough it out like I normally would because the doc said it likely would have ruptured, so now because of a few concerns the Dr. wants me to stay here over night. I'm one of those guys who has a hard time sleeping anywhere but home - My Bed + My Wife + a firearm within arms reach = good nights rest [Coffee]

Hope you get to feeling better soon. I know how it is, I had the same thing end of July, 2008. Tried to call in sick to work, but my co-worked had already called so I had to go in feeling so bad I could barely drive. By the time I got out and got to my doc's office I could barely walk. They wouldn't let me drive, had to get my wife to drive me to the hospital, they had me in surgery that night. I had some peritonitis that they couldn't figure out, so I got to spend 2 1/2 days in my room! Hope you get out way sooner than that. Sorry it messed up your vacation!

Take it easy, make a few overt sexual overtures to the pretty nurses (of course, *I* never get the pretty ones) and blame it on the meds. Whine, piss and moan once you get home to wring out all of the simpathy you can out of this.

Be thankful that you've got a wife willing to nag you into going to the doctors too! As much as I hate to admit it, a good wife can help keep us grounded in reality and not let us take the macho posturing to our grave.

I'm pissed at my family too. My oldest sister & her husband (who borrows $1.5k right after they buy an xbox 360 a bigscreen TV and then go and buy a new purebred dog) "didn't know what to send her" for christmas. Are you ****ing kidding me??? None of them hardly even make an attempt to contact, unless of course they need money. A lot of people having a shitty holiday season I'm afraid. It's just the wrong people having a shitty season. I know at least a couple people that need a good near death experience..... (I don't mean that in a threatening way)
