Anybody here build an M-14 before?

I am interested in building an M-14 this summer, anybody in the area have any experience with this? I would like to start collecting parts, and I might need some help once in a while. Tips and "old guy" experience welcome :)

I have the technical skill, I am trained with a TIG welder on chrome moly, I have machining experience, and have a fair amount of fabrication experience.

you should't need any welding on a M-1a what you need are the correct tools from brownells. headspace guage's, chamber reamer, barrel wrench etc.
as for parts. i have some .308 hs guages and a M-1a/14 complete trigger group, and other misc items i'd be happy to part with. i-m me if interested.

To heck with the M-14, this stuff is expensive :shock: . I am going to build an AK! :D
