Agreed

While I agree with Gunny's comments, I don't believe a charity event for children was necessarily the time or the place to express political views, especially since folks donating very well could be "Pro O". With that said, I don't know the layout of this particular event, or if his comments would have had any negative effect on potential donations, just an observation.

Might have been the wrong place to say it but dont say it if you are not willing to stand up for it.
If he felt he had to apoligize for that he should have made a simple comment like this "I choose the wrong forum to express my beliefs and I am sorry I used that forum, but this is the truth as I see it and I wont apologize for speaking the truth as I see it."

He could have saved face and stood up to his word, for not doing so I mark him down a notch.

You guys are all pretty generous to him. He spoke the truth as he believed it, then caved when confronted by pressure from (I assume) Geico, the History Channel, etc. Assuming that's true, then he traded his principals for cash. That is not character as I define it, and I used to appreciate him precisely because he seemed a man of character.

I don't think my watching or not watching his shows makes a lick of difference to him, but I'm done. He's another sellout.
