I may just barely make it. The company I work for has work weeks that go friday-thursday and I may be switched to the new site/schedule on the friday before the shoot. This means I'll be working back to back 14 hour graves wednesday and thursday and get off 7am friday and be back at the other site at 4pm to start a swing shift and get off at midnight. This gives time for sleep before shooting, which is good. Hopefully I'll find out this afternoon so I can go shopping for next weekend sometime this weekend. Hopefully.
Is organized (HA!) as this company has been lately, I'm not holding my breath, but I really need to get out of the house and throw lead at things.
lol, this makes 3 times now I'm out of town for this :( (nov/jan/feb)

in the continuing saga of wether or not I'm coming (aka wether or not work can pull their heads from their nether regions and get me a damn schedule)
I'll be starting training at the new site/shift on tuesday, but they may be making me work tuesday-saturday instead of monday-friday.
I told my supervisor (HA!) last night that I had specifically asked the client for saturday off (because this T-S crap was his idea) and thought that it was a M-F shift. They also changed the hours from 4-midnight to 3-11 which I guess is better? I dunno, I'm fed up with this.
Anyone got any computer geek/customer service without BS (as in the degree, but the less bullwhatever is good too) jobs available?

Just took a look at the extended forecast, Not looking real good. Of course that can change.
Both ways.

Weather for Lyons, CO only shows a 20% chance of snow. I'm optomistic.
though, to be honest, pushing it back a week may make it easier for me to come. My schedule this week is pretty hectic but I should be able to make it as it stands.
i'm going to go to eagle firearms grandopening and i might head up to the shoot to get help in sighting in my iron sights... that is if the weather is not crap

I'm still hoping I can make it, although I should probably do the brakes on the truck soon. And if the weather is good.......and if I don't have a crapload of homework....

My shedule as it sits (and will be, damnit) is swings tomorrow and thursday and a day shift Friday (as a favor for a coworker) and off saturday and sunday.
This allows me to go shopping Friday afternoon (after being paid early thursday morning) and get enough sleep before Saturday.
In other words: after 6 months of not being able to I am finally going to go shooting with Ya'll again.
Finally.
thank God.
Rain, shine, or snow, I'll probably be up there. I need it.

Saturday through Sunday Night
Partly cloudy. Highs in the 30s to lower 40s. Lows 6 to 14.
that's for lyons, take a handfull of degrees off for up in the mountains.
the only problem I see is that 20% chance of snow was pushed back to thursday/friday so we may be standing in snow but that won't phase me a bit.
I'm sure Dozer would love a little snow to bounce around in. :D

Snowballs == free biodegradable reactive targets.
My wife and I pontificated a few weeks ago about going one further and building a whole snowman and shooting the hell out of it.
Then she suggested a snow deer and all that and we just decided to go to The Firing Line.

lessee.... 3+ inches of snow on the ground now, I270 is currently closed between I70 and quebec cause of an accident but I'm sure will be open in the morning....
that much show on the ground and It's not likely to get above freezing tomorrow... Methinks it's gonna be a tough drive up to the mountains saturday.
I'm still up for it but I'm guessing we'll have to play it by ear.

I looked up the weather for the shoot spot and they are saying a HI of 24. So basically we are talking teens untill late afternoon. The roads are a mess and it is not going to melt off today or tomarrow for that matter up in the mountains.
I am not up for a 2+ hour drive to get to either shoot spot. The last shoot at least hit the 30's I think I may have to bow out on this one.
Let Me know for sure by 9:00 P.M.

Ummmm, I spent 4 years in Goose Bay, Labrador, Canada. Cold is -60 and a wind chill of -100. Cold is the fuel in jets gelling up. Cold is "it's illegal to run on base cuz your lungs could freeze" . Cold is tunneling through 15 feet high snow to get to your car. Rest of Today
Sunny and breezy. Highs 24 to 33. Northwest winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts to around 40 mph in the afternoon.
Tonight
Clear...breezy. Lows 4 to 13. Northwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to around 50 mph after midnight.
Sunday
Mostly sunny. Not as cold. Highs in the 30s to lower 40s. Northwest winds 10 to 20 mph in the morning.
(for Lyons)
so... a little breezy in the morning but a nice afternoon. Sounds good to me. With all the sun today it's probably gonna melt some/most of the snow up there.
I might be able to make this one, depending if I can find a couple of other cadets to go with me. Karl, I’ll let you know if I am going, and you can catch a ride with me.

Based upon my best guess on how AFPC (Air Force Personnel Command) works, I think that I will be going to Mountain Home AFB Idaho for about a year, before I go to pilot training somewhere TBD. I will find out everything next Friday night, and it is traditional to celebrate finally leaving this place, therefore, I probably won’t be shooting on that Saturday morning.

Alrighty guys I'm heading up there after a quick stop at wallyworld.
Didn't take the camera :P But, there was barely any snow up there. Except for a few gusts of wind it was a nearly perfect day. If I didn't have a few things to do here I would've stayed up there a little longer. :D
Did try out the Rem 700,the Fal, and the Sigma.
The Remington 700 .243 Win.- Great Gun, Except for the afore mentioned gusts, that would blow Me off target a little at inopertune times. I could have been 10/10 on clays at 90yrds. great trigger, excellent scope.
Thanks Rich. :D
The Fal- I need to tweak the sights a little, I was shooting over the clays at 90yrds. When I compensated for it, it had no problem in hitting them.
Thanks Bob. :D
The Sigma- Not bad the tigger might take a little getting use too at 7 yrds the frist time, it kind of looked like a shotgun pattren. I played with it a little and tried it again, it did close down a little. It could have been the bargain basement ammothat I was useing also, So I'll reserve judgement on it untill I run better ammo though it. I did like it though, it handled well, did have one minor glitch, likely ammo related.
Thanks Brandon. :D
Also tried PI3's XD9- an G21c
G12c- Nice, kind of like shooting the G20 without the recoil.
The XD9- WOW, I am almost impressed with that one, 16 rnds One large ragged hole at 7 yrds Just about 1"up and to the left of the Point of aim.
functioned very well.
Thanks PI3. :D

Yeah, that was fun. I packed up and left about 1pm.
the FAL is a bucket of fun and I'mma go broke feeding it.
I'm glad you like it. I can't remember if there was a sight adjustment tool in that sack. I think it was just the stock removal wrench, the gas tool and a broken shell extractor. again, I'm glad you liked it :D
bob
The Sigmas take a little getting use to. I have dry fired mine a bunch and it's easier to shoot.
i shot a 9mm sigma and even with the low recoil it beat the crap out of my hand
Greg, There You go living up to Your aka again.
Kwando, I know that recoil is totally subjective, I didn't find it to bad, of course I am use to the 10MM and the .454 Casull.
You must have shot one of the 1st gen POS Sigmas. The ergonomics of the enhanced Sigmas are very nice and in 9mm I have to ask, "What recoil?"
Greg, is there a way of telling the Generation?
