You will no longer have a Mother and Father... at least on a passport application...

Here's the article.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2011/01/07/passport-applications-soon-gender-neutral/

Apparently its to make it less offensive to non-standard familes... or something like that.

For fuck's sake...when will it end?

“These improvements are being made to provide a gender neutral description of a child’s parents and in recognition of different types of families.”

So the State Department feels it's necessary to make this accommodation to what...maybe 1% of applicants? To hell with most of the normal families...we don't want anyone from a family practicing an "alternate lifestyle" to feel bad about themselves.

Tyranny of the minority...that's what we're experiencing on a daily basis.

God, I hate liberals and liberalism. They're just not gonna be happy until the entire country is completely, irreparably fucked up.

I wonder what'd happen if when filling out the form you scratch out "parent 1" and "parent 2" and replace it with "Father" and "Mother"

probably prosecute you for defacing a government document.

I cant wait for the Happy Parent 1 and 2 Day Greeting cards to come out.

My Parent 1 will think it is so special when I send her or him or him/her or them, maybe it......wait Im confused. Does the Gov. mandate I send a card now? Are flowers offensive now! What are the approved Gender Neutral gifts I can send the "Them"?

Holy $hit.....Am I now a parent 1 or am I the parent 2?? The Gov. needs to make this clear. I dont know what I am to my son anymore.

Sum B!tch, Parent 1 or parent 2 F^^ker!![Rant1]

So now, instead of leaving the decision in the hands of "parent 1 and parent 2" in a gay or adoptive relationship, of whose name goes where, they spend $12091280934723983 to "correct" the document and re-print them on a national level. How many salaried employees is it going to take to get this job done?

The traditional values of our society have been under attack by liberals for the past 50 years. This is another example.

It's further evidence of political correctness run amok. It does affect me directly as it weakens the system of values and morals this country was founded upon.

And, frankly, I think it's shows a pattern by the current administration to bypass the proper law-making authority. It's no secret that the current liberal ruling class wants gay marriage laws passed. They haven't been too successful so they're bypassing legislatures with this sort of thing. Not a huge step...just a small one for now. The Obama administration has never publicly defended the Defense of Marriage Act as far as I know. This is just another attempt by this administration to weaken traditional values while advancing the cause of liberalism and political correctness.

Not to mention that every child has a natural mother and father. What's wrong with putting the correct information on the form. And why do we need to spend the money for this to make an extremely small minority of those who apply for a passport "feel" good about themselves...for no real practical reason?

"It doesn't affect me directly" is a pretty lame excuse for supporting by default an idea of this sort.

If the government came out tomorrow and said, "Effective today over and under shotguns are banned," I guess I wouldn't need to worry about it because it doesn't affect me directly? After all...I don't own an OU and I probably never will. And don't use the "it's a right" argument...we already know our rights are not absolute and supreme court precedence has already decided that certain guns not suitable for military use have no place in civilian hands.

You can be OK with this sort of thing all you want. But I'm not convinced with your "it doesn't affect you" argument at all.

And, yes, I have a passport. I would suspect that a fairly substantial number of people will fill out passport applications this year.

Where does it stop?

It stops when people stand up and take Their country back. It stops when we quit listening to the bull shit from the mouths of the people that are supposed to be working for Us and make them do their job or kick em the fuck out.

It stops when people have had enough, and we are very close to that.

These were the coherent words that I was seeking. Thank You Bailey

While I could care less what two adults do in the privacy of their home I resent the fact that they feel they are ENTITLED to the same encumberances that a traditional family/marriage is.
I feel for the children in these situations. Nothing like setting a child up to fail and be teased.
One of the toughest things I ever had to do as a parent was to try and explain to my then 6 year old what two men were doing kissing at the Taste of Colorado.
And it is truely sad to see morals shoved aside all because the carpet munchers and rump rangers feel they are ENTITLED.

I hate that frickin word anymore

Best part is, then they're going to blame US.....[Abused]

And what does it really matter? Gee, by that reasoning what does it matter if we have waiting periods, limits on number of firearms purchases, "arsenal" permits, etc. If you don't care about the sort of incrementalism mentioned here on the passport applications, and lots of other folks, even hunters, don't care about the incrementalism of "assault weapon" bans and such, what's the difference? None. Same thing, different topic. I'm with BP. I don't like the idea of morals being dismantled by people who have none, while they try to tell me what's right and wrong, while simultaneously telling me I don't have the right to decide that for myself or my kids.

When coming back from our cruise with our daughter, I got into an argument with the asshole at customs. He asked if we were married, I said, "Not yet," and he said, "Oh so you're just friends." What a fucking prick. At one point I explained to him the basics of common law marriage.

The only thing that irritates me about them doing something like this is the cost involved. I'm not going to get in to the whole marriage debate, as it doesn't impact me if people are a normal husband/wife, gay, etc.

As for gays feeling entitled, I don't see why they shouldn't be given the same rights as a traditional married couple, but I don't think anyone should be entitled because they're part of a certain group. They should be allowed all of the same rights to be miserable as the rest of us, and since it doesn't have any impact on me, I could care less. As for morals as a society, the only morals that matter are my own, so what other people do: fuck it. As for a traditional family, I'm glad as hell mine broke up at a young age, because the fighting and abuse of my "traditional" family sure was grand. But I respect that some of you have different beliefs, and that's fine, as it doesn't impact my beliefs at all.

My .02, cheers

What have we become? Why do we bend over for minorities? Should we allow for species next so the Wookie can have a check box?

But with #1 and #2 surely #2 isn’t as good as #1? Not that I’m competitiveJ

Also if you’re a brownie pounder isn’t #2 kinda grossL

What a dousche, I may have been inclined to pull him aside (away from the daughter anyway), and describe in GREAT detail, what makes my "friend" and I, more than just friends. Okay, maybe I wouldn't have, but that comment would nearly drive me to.
