LOVE IT MAN!!!
Stupid Jersey, The guy did act a little dumb by not doing any research before going and by clearly being out of the car. The worst thing he could have done was testify against himself. If I read it right he received two years probation. Better than jail time and hopefully he plays it a little smarter next time....and leave Jersey

I like the comments, it shows just how f'd up people are in NJ. But I do have to say I believe he knew the law and tried to get away with it. A reasonable person would not believe that you "can carry in another state as long as you are in your car". It's his fault for going to NJ, and its his fault for not checking the laws, but overall that is a jacked up place I will never go to!
But hey AZ loves us gun lovers [Beer]

I was thinking that when I was reading, but with a suspended license (dumb ass!) he probably would have gotten patted down and car serached then it would have been worse.

Jersey is a screwed up place, and I know that from personal experience. I was stuck there a couple years before I managed to get out, back to this part of the country. There's a lot of really nice folks back there, but then you have your share of whackjobs that seems to be out of proportion. They can have that place, and if I never set foot in Jersey again it'll be too soon. Reminds me of that old Mac Davis song, except replace "Texas" with "Jersey". Texas isn't my favorite, but I'd go there in a second instead of Jersey.

No, Christie commuted his sentence. Charges still stand but he won't have to pay more fines, serve more time or be on probation.

He'll still have a conviction on his record and thus forfeit his 2nd amendment rights, voting rights and it'll be harder for him to find a job.
The lesson here is Stay the hell out of New Jersey (but that lesson has stood for a LONG time and for many reasons in addition to gun laws).
It's his fault for going to NJ...
A truer statement has never been uttered.....
This should go to the supreme court. How can you get a felony by breaking a state law?

If you are convicted of something that is only a felony in NJ, you automatically become a felon in all 50 states.
I thought the definition of a felony, was the breaking of a federal law?
I guess not. That's just what I thought.
hollow points are illegal as well WOW. going to look up what the "Special circumstances" for having them are.
I truly hate the laws of some states. they amaze me with their asinine thinking.

Yeah because it makes SO MUCH more sense if the energy is expended in a pass through and kills the 4 year old kid next door to the burglary.
