Anyone got their hands on one of these (http://www.kimberamerica.com/solo) yet?

I find the piece evocative of the Colt 1908 (which I've always wanted in 9x19).

Too bad you can't get them in glossy blue.

I hadn't seen that yet. Looks interesting. I love my Ultra Carry.

Think I just got a chubby....Have been wanting a micro for awhile now, wonder if any shops have them in so I could check it out. Looks like it would be a good B.U.G

Wonder what retail is...

Curious about that too. THe MSRP on both the Kimber Solo and the Kimber Solo Stainless is $725. Would expect retail to be about $50 cheaper.

it's tiny (about the size of .380 pocket pistols), but a bit wide for a single stack:
3.9" high
5.5" long
1.2" wide (in comparison, PF-9 is .88" wide)

also notable: 7# trigger on single-action striker fired
heavy trigger for a single action- says "factory setting", implying it could be improved.

I like it, very small & light for a non-polymer
I find it funny that both stainless & standard versions are stainless barrel & slide, aluminum frame... the only difference between the models is the color of the frame

There are currently 3 of them on Gunbroker hovering around $700

( In a heavy Germanic accent: ) VERY INTERESTING !
Now I wish I didn't spend so much for the P 238s and .380 ammo.
The only thing I don't like about the Solo is the internal striker, I would prefer a external hammer, but that is just me.

I'd really like to handle one of these. It looks as if it'll be a pinky dangler without a mag extension which is something that I just couldn't get used to with the Kahr PM9 I had. However, the Solo is .300" wider than the PM9 so I'm wondering if it'll feel more "natural" to me.

I'd definitely like to put a few rounds downrange on one if anyone came across one.
(I hate Droid typing!)

I was about to buy the Walther PPS but damn, looking at the price of it, for what it is and the price of extra mags was too steep for me. Then the ruger came out and am kinda set on it, this Kimber looks cool but still up there in price and am sure the mags are going to be pricy.

Wealth of Solo threads (and details) on the Kimber forum at 1911forum.com: http://forums.1911forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=27

My worthless 2c, generally good reviews to-date but I personally have zero interest.

Theres a local place that has one to fondle and taking orders at $650. Not sure the name of the place; indoor range on 14 just west of 25 in ft. Collins.

Rocky MTN something?

I could do without the ambi mag release. Same for the ambi safety.

Yea, Rocky Mountain Shooter's Supply. I called them the other day. Their price is good, but I'm hoping to find somewhere that has them in stock to sell. [Bang]
