...with a 1/2-28 thread? I ran across a threaded adapter for a Ruger MkII bull barrel (which I have) on eBay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3679148275&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1) and I was thinking that if someone here had a suppressor for a .22 that has the right thread, and would be willing to let me try it out at a shoot sometime, I'd pick up one of these adapters and try it out. If I get sucked into the silencer thing, I may just go through the BATF malarkey and get one myself. ;)

Anyone?

I just bought a predator from Alan the problem is I have to still meet with him to pay for it and get the paper work done. I hope to have it by mid to late summer. I do have an AWC raider that would work but it would be kind of big and cumbersome on a MKII.

Karl has a .22 can I don't know what thread it is though.

Well, I have one, and it might be that threading, BUT, I aint real hot for the idea of using it with an unknown. If the barrel was factory, yeah, but if it was threaded aftermarket, I dunno. A baffle strike would suck a big one dude. Karl.

Yeah, I definitely don't wanna be wreckin' your stuff. :( Would it be viable to shoot a cleaning rod down the suppressor and barrel and make sure everything lines up, or are the tolerances even closer than that?

It's cool if you don't wanna risk it at all, it was just an idea I had.

I have one (actually two) you can try if you come to one of the south shoots, but it will need to be checked out with a rod. I am wondering about the adaptor. Heck, just get a Walther P-22 and you will be good to go. Ryan

I just reread your post and you said you had a bull barrel gun. That "adaptor" most likely goes around the front sight and is held on by a set screw. It won't be close enough to prevent a baffel strike. Don't waste the money, trade your Ruger in on a Walther P-22 if you want to go suppressed. Ryan

it might work, depending on the I.D. of the adaptor. all you need to do is pop off the bbl, slide the bolt assy out. thread can, and look down bbl.
the hardest part is reassembling the mark II !!

Yeah, the adapter does slip on around the front sight, although this one has lockrings rather than a setscrew to hold it on. If the machining is true, I could see it fitting damn near perfectly....but I'm not sure how good it is on this one.

Everything I've heard about the P22 says it's a pile of shit except for how easy it is to suppress, and I can't afford another gun for a while anyway. :) Hell, I can't afford a suppressor+tax for a long time either, but it do pique my interest. Plus I've wanted a silenced MkII since I was probably 12. :D

If nothing else, I would at least like to shoot someone's suppressed .22 pistol one of these days. :)

i had an issue with my p22 after i first purchased it. fired about 300rd b4 calling walther/S&W. sent it in the sent it back with 2 new mags. good cust svc. other then that it works with anything from the aquila 68gr to ci stingers.

Well, as for shooting a suppressed 22, you can try mine and I'm sure Ryan will allow you to shoot his as well. Karl.

I have a Walther P-22 with a Tac. Innovations TAC 65 that I shoot Remington Subsonics thru with no problems and a 10/22 with same can that you can play with all you want. Ryan

I've been toying with replacing the barrel on my Buckmark with a threaded Pac-lite and adding a suppressor.

The other new 22 I'm looking to suppress is the Sig Mosquito. I know it has been done, but I haven't seen it yet. This may be the new ticket.
