I had a carbine set at one time. I am looking for a cheap set of HG's I can attach an AFG to, would like something drop in or "plug and play" for the growing nerd population here [ROFL1] But I assume my AFG for a rail will not work with the MOE guards? Or is it somekind of adapter? Would eventually like to go all dark earth grip, HG, stock to replace the black BCM stock/grip/HG's I have. Or should I just bolt on a rail to the HG's I have and paint them? I have a FF quad rail I could put on, but i dont "need" it and I dont know if I want to go throught the trouble of putting in on.

for the moe system. you need to get the adapter rail system. It mounts to the bottom of the moe hg and then you mount the afg to that. I have one.

Bowers Tactical has MOE handguards, and also the MOE vertical grip that requires no adapter...

If you want to stick with the AFG, then yeah, you need a rail adapter...also available at Bowers :p

unfortunately he is very far from bowers. mount n slot is an industry partner and they are in windsor. try them.

If I can get this barrel nut off I think I will use my quad rail, that was my original plan. I was debating buying a drop in moe since I don't have a barrel wrench, but I don't have the money for the handguards right now.
