Hey all,

I've been interested in the LMT308 for a few months now after having spent a few months researching the various modern .308 platforms out there. However, I hesitate on buying one outright since I haven't handled one in person, and the 9.98lbs empty weight is a little intimidating. (Not that I'm scrawny or out of shape, but lighter is better, you know?)

Was previously waiting on the Colt SP901 after having read that it would be around 8lbs, but a SHOT show poster that I saw has it listed at 9.4lbs.

I was wondering if someone in the northern CO (Ft. Collins/Loveland) area had one that they'd be willing to let me handle. Don't need any range time, just want to see how it balances, how that 9.98lbs actually feels in person, etc.

After going through gunbroker search set to CO only, it seems there isn't a single one at any retailer in state anywhere.

Also open to any feedback you guys might have on this weapon.

That LR-308 you just sold; I don't imagine it to be much different.

The LR-308 I sold was a bit lighter (I wanna say 8.5lbs bare at a guess) and had shorter handguards, so I wanted to see how the LMT feels and balances by comparison. It's going to be for something of a different role as well; the LR-308 was set up as more of a designated marksman's rifle, while for the LMT or whatever .308 AR platform I go with next, I want it to be more for precision shooting.

I was handling the LMT MWS today and the balance is very similar to the CQB rifles. Should run great! The PWS .308 is about a pound lighter and still 1.1 MOA with cheap surplus ammo and a 14" bbl (Stacey said .62 with handloads)
