View Full Version : Tooth pulled
well i was just about to eat lunch when one of my molars broke, It had broke a few years ago when i fell thru a roof but i was to scared to get it fixed. Today when it broke more it hurt like hell so i mustard up some balls and when to the dentist. The needle wasnt bad but the pressure from him pulling sucked.
the tooth broke apart while pulling and he had to go back in to remove the roots, So now im home with bloody goze in my mouth and in pain,
How was your day hahaha
I need to get my teeth fixed too. Top of my list for when I have a real job with benefits again.

Sounds lovely dude.... [Tooth]
If you're doing well enough to post, then I don't feel bad saying that I hope your mouth is so swollen, that you look like a chipmunk storing nuts for the winter.
had my wisdom teeth out when I was 19, getting the nitrous was fun.
hahaha its not swollen yet, i bet tonight it will hurt. i wonder how long i have to leave the goze in so i dont get dry socket, i heard that hurts

Nothing will stop you in your tracks like a jacked tooth.
Hope you feel better Dave[Beer]
"...one of my molars broke...
Just had this happen at work December 4th, bit into a piece of left-over pizza with a bone in it, #19 molar exploded, and only two days before I was scheduled to leave the country. First tooth I ever lost, sucked, couldn't easily extract it and had to remove some jaw bone and toss-in a cadaver graft to host a future implant. Overall pain was manageable but unpleasant and the 2+ hour session "in the chair" was grueling.
im just going to take my losses with the tooth. I heard it brake when he was pulling and that was the ugliest noise i ever heard.

Always ask for the "amnesia pill", halcion. Really cheap, you only need one, it doesn't put you out completely, and while you'll vaguely remember being at the dentist office, you'll forget any "horrors"...
I still have all my wisdom teeth and they came in when I was like 12 or 13.

I've hears that horrid noise before. When I had my wisdom teeth pulled the lower two were impacted so bad I had to have them drilled and broke into 4 pieces just to extract and that was after cutting into the jawbone a little to help. Worst thing was I could not afford the fun gas so I did local anistetic(?). 3 hours later and lock jaw from my mouth being wide open that long, they were gone and I was drooling all over myself. Oh and I just started dating my wife...how she stuck around after that I dont know!

I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled about 5 years ago. The doc suggested two at a time but I was cheap. If you're numb enough it doesn't hurt but those noises and sensations are so wrong! That night I discovered oxycodone gives me insomnia. Whacked & wide awake. Stay away from dentists.

Been there done that !! No fun that's for sure. You may get small fragments working out of the gum in a few months if he didn't get all of them. No pain involved but worried me until I realized what was happening [Beer]
Had all four of my wisdom teeth pulled at once. Had a 2 hour big band gig the same night (playing lead). I was bleeding horribly but felt no pain. It sucked and was awesome at the same time... It actually was a good concert, I played prety darn well for just having 4 teeth pulled hours earlier.

If you were in some kind of Goth band it would have been awesome. The lead guitar player drooling blood.

WOW I wouldn't thought you could play a trumpet after dental work due to pressure.
WOW I wouldn't thought you could play a trumpet after dental work due to pressure.
And that is the big myth to brass playing. If you are efficient with your airflow, there is no pressure!!! The secret to successful brass playing is efficient air!
The only qualitive "pressure" that will exist with proper air supply is the pressure of the embouchure (lips) pushing against each other. There should be no other "pressure" in the throat, jaw, against the horn, etc.
