So Im about an hour out from finishing my rounds last night and as always I'm flipping through my preset AM stations.
I listen to Conservative talk radio like AM 740 here in COS, AM 850 KOA out of Denver, and AM 1460. I have called in a few times and even won those Glenn Beck Tickets a while back. Normally the host is polite, they listen to you if you are polite back etc.
Well it is around 0430 and Im listening to 850(the Big Steve SHow) and the topic is Conceal and Open Carry here in CO. Well right off the bat I should figure this host is a D-bag. He keeps referring to those CLIPS and the whole AZ incident, I mean "Accident". There is even a LEO(Deputy Williams) in the station with him giving him his POV. Well the LEO is all about LESS conceal carry and weapons in the hands of citizens and does not even correct the host when referring to the difference between CLIPS and magazines.
The lines are wide open and I call to give my 2 cents, I go on to explain that Im retired military, conceal carry permit holder etc, well the guy starts to interrupt every other word and starts to get smarmy about why I need a gun and why do people need to open carry and he even goes on to admit several times he has NO FORMAL TRAINING on firearms. I explain that I carry to protect me and my family and how LE is there to protect the general public but not me personally, I dont think the LEO liked that part! He even said "Well why dont you hire a bodyguard?". The LEO is saying how everyone is a threat to him and that they should leave the guns up to law enforcement. The host has no idea about background checks and legally buying guns. Im trying to get my point about how any fool can get a drivers license and hit the streets in a car and be more of a threat then a legal TRAINED RESPONSIBLE gun owner. Through the whole thing they keep cutting in. What ass clowns.
Then he asks if I ever had to "Pull it out" and I begin to state a scenario of where it was a deterrent as I had my pistol sitting in the open on my armrest in my truck while resting at a parking lot after a little hike in the evening and this black guy(oh no he didnt) Yes a BLACK GUY, pulls into the parking lot and walks up to the other cars and start looking inside all of them and looking around, he comes up to my truck and peeks into my dark tinted windows and see's me watching him and the pistol sitting there. He suddenly starts asking what time it was and mumbleing other stuff. I NEVER PICKED UP THE PISTOL. He promptly hoped in his car and jetted off. Well these pricks start in about me going to jail for BRANDISHING a weapon and what if he just needed help etc, my responses didn't fit their view then they cut me off. Then go on to trash talk me about being a tough guy or John Wayne and some other stuff. Now I know why that dick had no callers! HE HAD NO LISTENERS!

I never got around to the other story as when I was pulling into work late one night and this Ford Explorer with 3 guys followed me into the parking lot and it being a locked gate in front of me I had nowhere to go, the Ford pulled up close, paused and I started to position for access then they must have noticed the G-Lock sticker and the Handgun Safety Course Magnet on my side doors, the truck went into reverse and pulled away. Hmmm do you think they need directions to Loaf and Jugg?

Anyway, anyone else have bad call in experiences?
Remember, I guess LEO's see all LEGAL TRAINED RESPONSIBLE gun owners as threats to society.
You know because we are the ones causing all the crime I guess. Sad that it seemed that way to Deputy Williams.

When is OPEN CARRY MONTH?

I've only called in to KBPI a few times, and i've been on the air a few with them. I was going to call in to KOA when they were talking about tattoos once, but I didn't.

I called in and got on Hannity a few months ago. It was a nice experience. Interestingly, it was time delayed. I was on about 10:00 am local time and we heard it on 740 about 1:30 PM.

Big Steve is a bigger libtard than He really admits too. So I'm sure his guests would be the ones that more or less agree with His point of view.

Never have called in, Was tempted a couple of times on His show. But figured I wasn't going to sway him any, so why argue with the stupid..

Yeah, he does seem to have a lot of time to fill call wise. Barber's groupies sure do seem to leave ole Steve hanging on those early friday mornings..

Heck, I haven't listened too him in several weeks, Been able to get to sleep.. [Tooth]

I've called in to several shows. Mostly on political issues. Some 2nd Amendment issues.

The biggest thing that I remember when calling a liberal show is that you are calling THEIR show. They are in charge and they will ALWAYS talk over you because it is partially their job to make you look like an idiot for not agreeing with their agenda.

Liberal hosts will always pounce on the first thing you say that they don't like and try to ram you with it. They go out of their way to do it.

It's almost an project in futility to call liberal hosts.

Every conversation I've had with conservative hosts have been very good. I especially like talking with Caldera on 850.

The worst? Mario on 760.

I called in when Gunny Bob was still on 850KOA. He was a very nice man, pleasant to talk to. We were talking about the tornado that hit Windsor. My parents house was 1 block west of the massive devastation. Their house faired pretty well.

Called in to KHOW this past Monday for the Peter Boyles show. He had the Fox 31 reporter Julie Hayden and some guy who owns a newspaper in Glendale guest hosting for him. Very liberal in their thinking. Topic was criminally charging a 10-year old who burned a couple of condos accidently while playing with matches.

I was surprised how fast I got onto the radio. I thought people usually sat on hold for a long time.

I wish I would have had this kind of wisdom when I called one of the liberal shows some years ago. I thought in my foolish young naivety that it was all about the issue, the truth and the fact. But I found out it was about the liberal host interrupting, shouting over, insulting and trying to look like a superior intellect. I never called again.
