Ok, I am a bassist. When I encounter a bass part that is buried*.. I will occasionally hit the "bass tab" web sites...
Are these freaks on drugs? Cause most tabs online are freaking WRONG!
WTFIUWT??
*or I have some 'issue' learning it....
Input? WTF... over?
When I tried to play the guitar, I always had to use tablature. What do you expect from people like me who can't even read music? :D
I don't even know what you're talking about, but I'm with you! lol!
Tabs are numbers instead of musical notes. It is for people who can't read music (like me).
Here is an example. http://www.guitaretab.com/i/ivy/260936.html
Each line corresponds to a respective string, and each number corresponds to a different fret. All numbers stacked in a vertical line are played at the same time (strummed). There is no way to read the tempo, other than if there are additional notes, or you just playing it how it sounds.
thank you.

I've been playing for like 40 monkeys. Still. These guys call themselves "expurts"?
Typo intended.
Pisses me off because I don't have time to fix the errors so some newbie doesn't show up with a bag o crap.

My son plays guitar and always uses that term "tablature" and I never really understood until I read your explanation-Thanks [Beer]

Yup, half of the tabs are even labled wrong. i.e. C-7 is actually a c^6, etc.

That's the issue right there.
It pisses me off when people use "alternate" fingerings on brass instruments and when I ask, they said because their intonation is off using standard fingerings... I just laugh at them because even with the alternates, they are STILL OUT OF TUNE!!! HA.
**Alternate fingerings on brass instruments not only messes with intonation, but also with characteristic sound quality as well.... it's a big no-no.
this thread messed with my mind! I am not musically talented in any way, shape, or form. I do know how to install a cd player though[Tooth]
