I went up to Eagle Firearms retail store in Wheatridge yesterday. This is their opening week and have some in-store specials.
RockRiver (RR) ARs at 2005 pricing -$20 off current
RR stripped lower for $99.00
and others... but I do not remember.
Noticed some other things that were interesting. They had ASP LED lights for $4.99 (seen else were at $13-$15). I bought a ARMS flip up rear BUIS for $69.00 (not sure that I understand, but they receive them on flatop ARs and buyers don't want them so they take them off and then sell them without the box or the locktight in a baggie at -$20 off of they in-box price. I did not care for the box and it was new/never used...good deal :D ) They had Springfield .45 XD 4" black at $489.00.
I have bought a barrel off of they and was very happy there service. They showed me all the models of BUIS that they had and talked about what they liked and disliked about each. They seemed like nice people.
I am not associated with them in anyway, just a guy that likes to build ARs and appreciates a place where good parts can be found. I would do business with them again.

I drove up there Saturday as well, only to find a cardboard sign in the window saying "closed". Pissed me off.

I ended up buying a RRA stripped lower from Eagle. Had to make an appointment to go to the store and buy it. While I was there, I did get to fondle a CAR-A4 like what I want to build, and Chris is a nice guy and answered some of my questions, and even tossed in a free US Gov't M16 manual with my lower. However, the whole appointment thing just rubs me wrong, and I probably won't be going back.

People are pretty harsh, it's only been a couple weeks.
Isn't it logical that since Eagle decided to pay rent on a storefront with windows and a sign, that they will have 9-5 type hours in the future?
Besides, isn't an 01 Dealer supposed to have hours anyway?

He said eventually he'd like to hire someone to do the storefront, but it's hard to find someone who is knowledgeable about the products, learns procedures and paperwork quickly, is TRUSTWORTHY, and will work for what he can pay. It didn't sound to me like that would be happening anytime soon.
Brian
How much was He paying?

Yeah I was about to say that either Marlin or Brian himself would be about right for that
I've already commented on this place. Hard to get ahold of, and why have a store front if you're not going to be open during stated hours!?!? Too bad too looked like he wasn't to far off some of the better internet pricing I've researched.

Lol, I've got a ways to go in the knowledge department, but that would be a sweet gig.
I don't understand why the storefront exists, really. If it's to better serve local customers, he could just have locals buy online like everyone else but not have to pay shipping or something. I bet eating the shipping would cost a helluva lot less than renting a storefront.
That place cost money to outfit, too. It alone in the strip mall has steel/concrete posts concreted into the parking lot right in front of the store to prevent smash-and-grabs. Bars on the windows, the whole nine yards. Although the porno video store next door has bars too. ;)
I don't get it.

Just thought I would throw in my .02.
Chris did the transfer for my 700 that I purchased. After talking to him for a while I understand the situation he is in. People come there with absolutely no intention to even buy anything (like the group of kids that kept trying to come in while I was there) And then you always have the perfume dealers and other solicators that like to go door to door and bother people. Those types take his time and attention away from answering the phone and making sure stuff gets packaged in time for the UPS man when he arrives.
The service I got was still excellent as it always has been for the past 4 years I have been dealing with him.
So just because you have to make an appointment dont totally right him off. It may suck but the service you get from him is hard to beat.
I'm trying to give these guys the benifit of the doubt. I've been trying to contact them both by email and phone (always busy or answering machine) to set up an appointment. They have a rail riser that I want to fondle before I buy one and their price is close enough to be worth it. But right now they just aren't answering or responding. I'm getting more and more frustrated, but trying to, like I said, give them the benifit of the doubt.
If they really are this busy, then bringing on a part timer to cover the store would seem to me to be worth the extra business they would be able to handle. Ah well... they've got until tomorrow or I'll have no choice BUT to take my money else where and never look back.
OK I finally got ahold of these guys and got into the store. Nice enough guy, fully aware of the limits he has to respond to customers face to face. He does respond to email, and understand that the phone attempt is just maddening for his customers.
I'm not going to say he has the ABSOLUTE best price, but a lot of his prices are either right on par or close enough to it to be OK.
I'm sure I'll end up dealing with him again, I'll just make sure that I'm not in a rush this time to get the part(s) I need.
Chris is a nice guy. If I'm buying online, I might as well buy out of state so I don't have to pay sales tax. I just thought having a store front was supposed to make things easier for the locals.
I'd be happy if the store was open only on Saturdays. I was stopping by almost every Saturday to buy parts and accessories. I don't need the hassle of scheduling yet another appointment in my life.
Hmmm.. I am interested in an RRA Elite CAR A4 from this guy but didn't get an email back asking if he had one in stock nor that I could get an appointment for Friday to come to the store to purchase... I live West of COS so driving there would be over 2 hours for me... I can't see driving all that way just to find the doors closed on a Saturday and without an appointment, I definately won't simply show up just to get turned away...
Where else in Colorado can I find an RRA ( besides Specialty Sports ) ?
Is Jensen Arms the way to go ...?
try looking at www.ar15sales.com he beats the Eagle price and actually believes in customer service.

I was going to buy an upper from them but couldn't get a response to my e-mail. bought it from AR15sales.com instead. didn't have to pay tax, shipping was included and Pete was really nice to deal with. [pirate]

over 1 month period i sent 3 e-ms and as many ph calls.
guess he must be doing very well to ignore an instate sale
My emails have been ignored also.
Bought my RRA midlength upper from Pete at Legal Transfers. It's amazing that a guy in NH is easier to get a hold of than someone in state with a "store".

And will get you your item sooner than the guy half an hour away. As I've said before, Eagle sucks.
