View Full Version : Need a mechanic in greeley
My 91 suburban need some attention, it's currently the only vehicle so theres no time for my shade tree skills.
Anyone know a good mechanic shop in the greeley area?
What's wrong with it? The owner at Auto Doctor is a very good friend of mine and is 2nd amendment friendly. He does very good work and is very good priced. Call them tomorrow and ask for Doyle.
Doyle is my neighbor, I was just discussing taking it there. Looks like that's the answer, thanks. Edit it may be a ring gear. bad clunking coming from rear

They cant fix Ford vans. I dont know where all the actual mechanics from Greeley went, most shops got rid of high paid techs and replaced them with grease monkey guys to save money. A lot of the good techs either work in Denver now or they changed professions.

Yeah but it wont make it to denver on it's own and i just need to know what part to replace. I can swap the whole axle from the junk yard in an afternoon if I have to but it's hard to tell whats going on without a lift

Its to bad that it is not just in greeley, That is how its been all over for the last few years.
I have worked in the dealer for 12 years and seen some good times. right now its kind of bad all over.
I do alot of extra work at my house and dont need a lift. for any big jobs i will send over to a friend who has a lift in a small shop.
If anyone needs anything just let me know. I can give references and you can call some of my customers. from chief of police to local business owners that i serve.
and if you have a ford under warranty you can bring it to the shop i work at.
as far as your rear diff goes, it may save you some $ to get a used diff assy.
you can pick those up and install for less than you would to replace all the worn out parts in your diff. a ring and pinion with all the bearings can get spendy.
i have had very good luck doing that in the past
go to car-part.com to look for one

yeah, year before last I ran into that problem. A garage that was just a bunch of lube techs guess-fixing their way thru my money and time.

Having worked there at Auto Doctor, I can tell you that they will fix anything. I don't know where you heard that from but you are wrong. I worked on plenty of Ford's there over the years. Give Doyle a call Wulf202
so big o tires doesnt know how to put wheels on and left one completely loose which caused the clunking.
Did it trash a rim? If so, make them buy you a new one. I'd also be looking carefully at the wheel studs. They are probably mangled and not usable. Lucky the wheel didn't come off.
Firestone jacked up my car once with their incompetence.

We have had a few Ford vans in there over the last 6-8 months and they have since been elsewhere. Of course Spradley is no better, I even took mine to a shop here in the Fort and at least they got it running, but they left half the crap under the hood undone. Another shop in Greeley had my van for a tune up, and either on purpose or because he was a dumb ass he left a vacuum line unhooked and a fuel injector unplugged. Auto doctor has left electrical connections loose and didnt even put star washers on ground connections. I had dealt with them a about 5 years ago and they were ok. Thats right before the shop I worked for traded quality for cash by getting rid of all the techs one by one and replacing them with lube techs.
