So I ordered a new scope and a mount for my rifle last week and today I get the confirmation email that they were delivered to my Parents home (live in a apartment, I don't like having anything big sent there.) I was all excited but had to finish my classes and work, so afterwards made the drive up to the springs only to see my 2 packages SITTING OUTSIDE ON THE PORCH! [Rant1] WTF! They been out there since 12pm, and non of my parents have been home all day.. $2,000+ of glass and mounting hardware + extra in plain view with one of them having big lettering saying LA RUE on one of them... My parents don't live in a bad neighborhood by any-means but the street is often traveled by kids all of all ages due to 2 schools being within walking distance to each other. I mean WHAT THE HELL MAN!?
Thanks for listing.[Rant2]
When you order something you can ask that a signature be required. That way its not left there...

Yeah, I love how for ammo and some other things you pay extra for "Adult Signature Required" ... and then they just leave it on your porch.
UPS delivered a VZ24 to my neighbor once ... thankfully he delivered it to the wrong address on one side of us instead of the wrong address on the other (where the schizophrenic nut lived).

No guarantee ... often times they still leave it on the porch.
Yeah, I did the must be signed thing for my wife's whole families Christmas presents. Tracking said "signature obtained" a line or so down it noted the package was left on the porch. Huh? Well, it got stolen and I am still not gonna use UPS, and they have handled the customer service terribly, just constant big business hand off.

Yup. Learned this one first hand too. Luckily nothing was stolen in my case. But, they did ring the doorbell (so we're told) and honked their horn as they pulled up.
I always have anything valuable delivered to my shop. They ALWAYS get a signature for commercial deliveries. Of course, we've had everyone from Sam Colt to Yosemite Sam to Ronald Reagan sign for stuff.... [LOL][Stooge]

I thought shippers designated value packages to be signed for to avoid "I never got it claims" ?? Stag Arms sent a complete upper last year that required a signature and because I wasn't home I had to pick it up at UPS in Commerce City. Stag required the signature not me.

FYI, if you specify a value over $1000, UPS considers it a high value shipment, and it receives special handling(yeah, they'll actually get signature, even for residential delivery). Over $5K, it is HAND CARRIED through their warehouses, and never sees a conveyor belt, according to our old driver who just retired after 33 years at UPS.

And has special yellow striped tape on it. The package handler has to sign for it when it goes into the trailer and another on removal. I threw packages at UPS for a year or so.

I ship for a living and UPS Sucks. Had a bunch of mags sent to me and UPS gave them to the people accross the street who are Flaming Libby's and if you looked at the lable it said for my house but they opened it up anyways and not only did they open it they tore into the mag packaging too. Finaly found out where my box went to and went over and was not to happy, and they kept asking all these questions like what type of guns are they, where are they, Do i have a permit. told them to get bent. I called UPS and sent them a nice shit storm

I have valuable items delivered to the local UPS station with a Will Call. Just be glad your average Joe probably doesn't even know what "La Rue" signifies.

Yea I dought anyone known what La Rue meant, but a package left on a porch with the letters La Rue so big you can see from the side walk draws more attention then is needed.
And oh I went to check the delivery boxes, sure enough right there for instruction for driver: "If No ones home please leave on backyard porch."

OH GO DIAF![ROFL1]
Thought this was funny the other day. UPS left a couple thousand rounds of .223 on the porch but since an adult over 21 wasn't there to sign for it, they took the $2.50 replacement cleaning brush for my Surefire 556K with them to be redelivered. (brush for attachment mechanism only, not the baffles, before someone explains to me not to clean a centerfire suppressor ;))
Now granted that's because Surefire designated it was an adult signature item but still I found that pretty amusing.

Been there. My next door neighbor moved here from California. I live in the county so I am sure you can connect the dots.[Rant1][Rant2][Bang]

So, they took one look at your cow and asked if you ride it often and if you have your own saddle?
They thought your goat was the ugliest, meanest dog they'd ever seen?
They keep asking if there is Mello-Roos on your place?
They are miffed that we can't buy Jim Beam at Albertsons?
They feed the possum, coyote, and foxes?
[LOL]
that is their job. they delivered the package. get signature required or call ahead and tell them to hold it at the center. also get insurance on everything.
probably more expensive stuff getting delivered all the time.
all I know is that in a SHTF holy end of the world situation, I hope I am able to find a few fedex or ups trucks. they have to have a massive amount of cool shit in each truckload I am sure.

Never have any issues with UPS. The 1 time I had 1K of ammo lost; UPS took care of it for me. They where fast too. So going back to the neighbor that opened up a package that didn't have there name or address on it and then gave you shit about ordering gun stuff. Is it a crime to open a box not addressed to you? I know it is if shipped USPS. If it holds true for all forms of mail I would threaten to sue them. That would be in a language that they would understand(I really wouldn't unless it became a habit).
