And it's not even decent ammo. I dunno about the 45 ACP, but S&B 9mm doesn't even have enough pop to properly cycle the slide in a couple of my pistols that have heavy recoil springs.

The person probably just cut and paste from a firearm ad they had. But still funny!

In Cali, I know back many years ago, when you bought ammo they logged it...

That's the RMGO site! No compromise & all that! The guy should move to California. He'd fit in better out there.

I do have a question though, people post this all the time "no criminal background" on for sale ads. How are they going to know if you have a criminal background? Is everyone doing a $35 background check before doing a private party sale?

CYA. If the guy seemed too dodgy I'd back out of the deal in a FTF. If he said, "I'm a convicted felon", I'd have to say no.

Not being a felon myself, I might be wrong but I've been told that criminal are an untrustworthy bunch. I suppose a good CYA ad would have to include "No lawyers & politicians".

I fully understand the "bad vibe" looking dodgy crapy looking guy, but are people really doing backgrounds for a private sale? Must be just a scare tactic. Most the felons I interact with, this disclaimer wouldn't change their mind on any transaction.

No they aren't doing background checks. It's just that by saying that you won't sell to a felon, and asking if they are a felon, you've done your part in inquiring about the buyer's legal status to purchase a gun. If you don't ask, or state that you won't sell to a felon, then when it turns out that you did sell to a felon, then you share some culpability because you didn't even bother to ask.

But I'll bet neither of you guys would peg my Hinkometer™. I've only gotten creepy vibes from one guy that wanted to do a deal (not from here), and he was the seller. It wasn't that great a deal to begin with, and I took a pass on the sale. I don't think the gun in question was stolen, but something didn't feel right.....
