Folks, I posted and excerpt from Jack O'Connor's "The Rifle Book" on a dif forum. It is an insight into how caliber perspective may have changed amd how he felt about guns.

I'd always heard Jack was a stout .270 guy. I'm surprised to read of his fondness for an '06. Admittedly, I've only read bits and pieces of his writings so I'm certainly not well-versed on them.

I've always believed the '06 was more than enough gun for anything on this continent, anyway.
