Get another lower. Funny because this is the answer that frustrated me the most because I did it to one of my Colts and it's not exactly a lower that turns up for sale very often. I had a block of wood for support on the dog ear and whil tapping I didn't realize it worked it's way out and well...

I've looked and looked for a fix, only worthwhile solutions I found is to
A. deal with it
B. glue the piece back on and blend as best you can
C. buy the Stark grip (uglier than a mutha IMO)
D. buy a new lower
I went with A. plus the full MIAD kit.

Graves that is exactly what mine looks like, I put new pin in and pressed it and it's broke but together. Just the crack line.
Still it's not the same... Tear...Tear
Henpecked, I might look into that, but I'll probably try and epoxy or JB weld it...lol
What kind of lower was it?

i have had very good results using JB weld 2 part epoxy. the trick it to be patient enough allowing the epoxy time to cure. The best way i have found for trigger guard pin install is
1) taper one side of the roll pin very slightly in grinder, using a file OR WECSOG it with a dremel
2) place pin in freezer after applying a slight film of oil.
3) i use a wood shim as the backer on bottom (Opposite) side of lower where pin is being inserted.
4) remove pin from freezer and install tapered end first. Using a hemostat ro hold the pin allows you to ensure pin is not going in on an angle
5) if tab breaks see opening paragraph

The new pin went in with out a hitch, it was the old one that F'ed up everything, Maybe the new one went in so easy because the tab was broke, lol. I found a guy that welds the named M60 Jim, but I think I wil JB weld the SOB and keep the rifle forever, I'll post pics on Tuesday when my parts get in. Thanks everyone.

I think it was m60 Joe; talked to him but it seemed he wanted to do a lot more than just weld the ear back on.

before using the JB or other quality 2 part epoxy make sure to bevel the parts. i would do it on the inside of the tab then a small bevel outside.

I have bought 2 lowers due to FUBARS. I keep telling myself I am going to make a jig but we know how that goes.
I use end grain 2x4 as a support block for the ear and a finish brad as a pilot pin. I also use popsicle stick to support the trigger guard so you arent driving the trigger guard into the ear as well. The brad drives right into the 2x4 with the roll pin. I also think the fewer hammer blows, the better.
So far so good (insert Knock on Wood Smiley)
