Just got this in an email. Kinda funky, but also probably quicker than flip sights.

thats interesting, might be a good idea though
I saw those at SHOT, good idea for 3 gunning. I can see them getting snagged up on gear in an operational environment though. I think their new 60 & 100 rd mags will be better sellers.
They are needed to shoot their 60 and 100 round magazines from a prone position. Sirefire's mags are so long you need to lay the gun over at an angle.
It is shown for a couple seconds at 4:31 on Surefire's video-

When using a magnified optic up close the whole dominant eye thing can play hell with your vision.
With the sights canted off to the side you just roll the rifle over 45' and use the irons instead of the scope. 3-gun shooters have been using versions of them for years.
They might be a bonus when shooting rollover prone, but that isnt what they are meant for.

These were designed by Barry Dueck, who is one of Surefires top 3 gun shooters. He was trying to solve an issue of which some stages in bigger matches would present a Far target then immediately present a close target which need a bit precision then back out to far target, without the need of having to adjust your magnification after each target. As Hoser mention, having full magnification to shoot a far target then immediately having to make a tight close shot can screw your vision up temperately, due to not having the correct FOV your eye is programmed for.
I would love to try these out, but since it’s build of great quality and is from sure fire, they’re not cheap.
Just got mine in. I'll post some pics later, and an update on functionality. They seem really nice to the eye, but a tad bit on the heavy side.
