-22 degrees here in Bailey. I think that's as cold as it's been in the 20 years I've lived here.

My neighbors on both sides have dogs outside all day everyday barking non-stop. 5 dogs total. If they leave them out for more than 30 minutes today I'm calling animal control...on top of being cruel to the dogs today, maybe, just maybe, animal control will have to take the dogs and I won't have to deal with the barking anymore. Is that bad?
Edit: oh yeah, -11 in Littleton with reported -33 wind chill right now.

How many of you guys had to muck out stalls this morning? Great way to start the day feeding horses. The pump in the barn was frozen so I had to haul buckets of water from the house.
At least my truck started right away. It sounded awful for a minute but made it.

nope, just had to shovel and got the truck running so I could hit the post office, get some gas and I was going to get some doughnuts to enjoy in the mornings, but apparently the bakers didn't get to work on time today and the supply was very limited.

I went out shortly after mocking Bailey guns...
Warm up the Blazer and scrape...
Blow Motor Inop. DEADLINED
After a 3 hour replacement in sub zero temps I went to get the replacement grille for the blazer.
MAF Sensor Failure.
tried to replace with a "Used" model... Failed.
Blazer is deadlined... anyone have a garage/shop space near 225/Colfax I can use?
I am NOT looking forward to working on this outside tomorrow.

I slept in my car for about an hour yesterday morning with the motor off, in an open parking lot. Wasn't too bad at all. I just had my parka and a small child's blanket (pink) on my legs.
The worst part, is that once my car gets going above about 35 mph, the wind blowing through the grill, in combination with my using the heater, completely drops my engine temp to below the C. Then it is COLD while we're driving across town. I can get some heat back by recirculating the air, but then the windows fog up and I can't catch up. Today after work I stood out in the parking lot and put some paper under the hood, just behind the grill, but it didn't work nearly as well as I'd hoped. At least the car started. My battery is like 5 years old.
Oh yeah, I took back to back dead battery calls, non-stop, for about 4 hours before it calmed down enough to get at least 20 seconds between calls.

Well at least it didn't get as low as it was supposed to. -11 here this a.m.
I have to replace my battery... no cold crank amps... it refuses to start, even with cables...
Keep em charged, i have solar chargers, work pretty good even if it's cloudy.
-32˚ before sun up.
<knocking on wood> Both cars started, with a little grumbling, yesterday. Hopefully, I'll be as lucky today.

i have never owned a vehicle long enough to buy a battery.
although that might change with this 97 silverado I picked up. great hunting rig!

Subarus are notorious for shitty batteries in the cold...over Thanksgiving I left my dome light on in the parking lot at the airport.
My car has been out in the cold since I got here at 10:30. I'm wondering if its going to start.
Well, I believe mine is close to 6 years old
I'm pretty sure mine is older, hehehe... but why replace it if it was still working? I think its about to bite the dust though...

I've got the same battery that was in the truck when I bought it 8 years ago and it started up this morning. Probably just jinxed myself [ROFL1]

Well, Sat. I drove over to the stop and rob, turned off. Then it didn't want to start. Hoofed it home, went back with the other car, tried it, it started.
Then this morning, went to start it, and it almost didn't want too.
So, discretion being the better part of valor..

On of the biggest problems I have found, on most Chevys and Fords is with acid filled batteries, if you get alot of corrosion at the terminals. Not only shoild you clean the posts and clamps. But check the small wire comming off of the positive terminal. If the wire gets corrosion in the wire it self it will give signs that the battery is low. The last two vehicles I had both had the same problem. Had to replace the cables not the battery and down the road I went. Thats why I like Optima batteries because there is no corrosion, and if the battery breaks no acid will leake.
I have no idea how old my battery is, probably at least 5 years old. My car has been starting okay.
Last night after my other post, I was doing the dishes in the kitchen, and the tile on the floor closest to the window was so cold, that it was physically painful to stand on.
Today I had WAY more dead battery calls than yesterday. I also had one person who needed her car towed because it over heated. Heh.
