The guy with the 338 was probably Ray, and I can give anyone who emails me his phone number.

newracer

Yes it was Ray. We swapped business cards so he could let me know if he heard anything.

newracer, saw Your post at Arfcom, since I can't answer You there,I'll do it here

When We did the LHC clean up, the Rangers supplied the bags, had some rakes and shovels, and used they're truck to carry the stuff out. I could only guess that they might do the same up there.

If you do find out differantly, let Me know. I do have rakes and shovels and I could use My truck if needed.

Could someone show me where this site is located on that new map page ? Thanks!

It's about 2 minutes south of Cheyenne, Wy. OK, OK, it's a hair closer than that. Seriously, it's way north, just east of I-25 about half an hour I'd say. Lemme see if I can get a better location for you. Karl.

OK, if I remember right, you go north on I-25 just north of Fort Collins. Take the exit for Ault (Colorado 14). Go east until you're in the Pawnee National Grasslands. From there, somebody else will have to give directions to the exact spot. Perhaps Marlin can step in now. Karl.

Go north on I-25 to Hwy 14 East. Take that past Ault. Past Ault the highway turns to the northeast. Right were the highway turns due east again turn left on CR-57. Take CR-57 north 1 mile to CR-96. From that interestion you can go west through a gate to a small area or go east down CR-96. If you go east on 96, go about 1/2 mile then turn right just before a bridge, down a small ravine. Down that ravine is alot of areas. GPS coordinates 40 40 55.53 N 104 31 27.74W is the intersection of CR-57 and CR-96. 40 40 55.53 N 104 30 25.98W is the entrance to the ravine.

I had to talk to my son first because he has a soccer game that day and I wanted to make sure he wouldn't be mad if I missed it. He told me it was fine if I missed his game he said "It's more important for you to go out there and help. I don't want it to get shut down because it is too dirty. I like going out there to shoot." If a 7 year old can see the importance, why can't grown adults that make the mess understand? He then offered to miss his game and come along, I told him his team mates need him at the game.

Anyways I'll be there!!

Bad news Newracer, They apprved the service change so I won't be able to make it. If it was anybody else I could claim stupidity and get out of it. But, I have build three services and changed two others for the Guy I'm working for, so He knows it's My only real talent. So He wants Me there.

I'll try and catch the next one up there.

Man was it windy out there!!
About 25 people total, the forest service lady estimated 7 of them shooters, the rest audobon society. She said they do it every 6 months give or take.

Lots of junk, casings, shotgun wads etc. No idea how many bags were filled, but I saw two pickups full to the rails, another piled way high and a 3 ton truck with the back full. I'm not sure if another dump run was made earlier. They used up all the bags they brought and there was still trash left over.

I spoke with Merl, didn't see any others from the board, but the blowing sand made it hard to be real sociable.

Thanks Merl and any others from here who got out there today.
