It's a knife. It doesn't matter if it is welded shut so it cannot be drawn or not. There is a zero tolerance policy in place in schools against weapons. Just because it is a ceremonial piece does not put it in a different classification. It is still a weapon and should not be allowed.

What about the kindergarteners who were kicked out due to drawing a picture of a gun?

What about the Boy Scout who was suspended because of his Swiss knife?

YOUR kid would be put in ISS if he brought a PLASTIC BUTTER knife to school.
