View Full Version : Grown men throwing rocks at each other
Im watching the news and have seen several video's in Cairo Egypt of opposing groups throwing rocks at each other. They look ridiculous. If that is how they are going to establish there new government, well good luck to them.

I found it amusing when they rode in on camels and horses [ROFL1]
rock throwing... now that's the kind of civil unrest a dictator likes to see.

Did you see how the crowd kicked out Chritiane Amanpour? She reported Tea Party rally as an extreme event. I wonder how she would report this one.

My first month in US, April 1992 - Los Angeles Riot - My baptism of gunfire. God forbid, it would never happened in bigger scale in US.

the Existing Government cant be seen as quashing an uprising with military force... Remember they are getting BILLIONS from us. If they piss of the U.S. they are seen as dictators and get sacked.
"...opposing groups throwing rocks at each other. They look ridiculous..."
It is amazing isn't it, makes you realize how primitive the human condition can be at times. That said; we're civilized, we just rape each other with words and in courts of law, I'm often not sure which is more ridiculous.
Speakin' of ass-whoopin's, how bout' CNN's Anderson Cooper taking multiple pops to the skull earlier this week? Heh heh
Its like they are getting pent up fustration off thier chest. They have the rock fight, torch thier nieghbors car and then what? I just dont get what they are trying to achieve with the rock fight.
Wait, wait... you mean things aren't nice and peaceful when they take away guns? You really mean if people don't have guns they will use rocks, clubs, and even their fists?! No way, unpossible! I refuse to believe it....
Been noticing what their military is driving. There's an M-113 and M-1 in the above pictures. I have also seen a picture of the back-side of a M48, and the fighters up are F-16's. I guess we know where a decent chunk of our cash to them has been going.

After Israel kicked their ass and almost took Cairo and Damascus, Egypt started to play nice so we stared supporting them to keep it that way. I'm not sure who came up with the bright idea that giving them tanks and jets was good idea to keep them friendly in the first place, but if this keeps going south those tanks and jets could end up with the bad guys pretty easy.
When the US sells military hardware, don't they install "kill switches" and lojack on all of the vehicles? Just like the movies.
It would be funny (not for the pilot) if the US or Israel hit the lojack button and shut down the aircraft just as it crossed the border.

Sounds like the shopping carts at King Soopers that "stop" when they leave the parking lot [Tooth]

If the Egyptians had gun rights, would this thing already be over? Or would the army step in and attempt to quash it.
Don't take this rock throwing thing too lightly. There are many countries in the middle east where death sentences are carried out by stoning. You know, death sentences issued for convictions such as marital infidelity or making a slanderous comment about someone.
The thing that appeals to me the most is how quickly vigilante groups formed up to protect their neighborhoods.
All that's needed for peace in Egypt is for there to be a ban on rocks. Maybe big hands as well. Seen a picture of a guy carrying up to four rocks in each hand. Now tell me what reason anyone has for needing to carry so many rocks huh? If Mubarac can't get an immediate ban, at least enact a 10-15 day cooling off/waiting period.

they should also make them register their rocks. Write their name on them so they can trace them back to the original person that threw it. I can see it now. A ban on high capacity hands and knocks on the door. Mr. Mustafa is this your rock? It has your name and address on it. It is belived it killed 3 people yesterday. Please come with us. Oh are those high capacity hands? Looks like you can hold 2 or more rocks. You are in trouble now[ROFL1][ROFL1][ROFL1][ROFL1]

Another observation i had. While watching the various news monkeys I heard a few say something to the effect that they dont understand why there is violence against western journalists. They say "they need to understand our freedom of press". Uh dumb ass we have that here in our country. You cant go somewhere else in the world and expect them to care about our rights when they dont give rights to their own people. Oh and to Anderson takes it in the pooper and christine amabitch. What did you think you would here and see. People screaming thank alah the U.S. is here. Fucking idiots. End of rant.
Heard the Rockies are watching the videos carefully ,,, looking for a possible new Arm amongest the many.

This whole situation down there is crazy. A very old friend of mine and her family live in Cairo. They finally got out on Wednesday.

Rgr, we had a missionary family friend that was in the Gaza strip. He got his own security detail, courtesy of Israel's Mossad. (Few people on Earth I wouldn't mess with, they are one of them... hehe)
They left after a 3 year stint. Multiple gun shots, threats, bombs, etc.

You know, if they'd get a couple shoe strings and a shoe pad together and make a slingshot, those stones could do some hefty damage.

I'd want to believe what would happen is that most of the military would choose to side with their families rather than their oppressive leader. Most military I talk to about the subject of civil unrest in America would choose to do nothing or side with "the people" and worse case scenario from one person "shoot to miss". Me personally, I swear that I will protect the Constitution of the United States from all enemies, foreign and domestic. That trumps the rest of the oath, leaders of any country CAN be a domestic enemy if they fail to represent the people.
Imagine here or in Egypt; citizens (and all of those ex-military) with guns standing up against their oppressive leaders. Then see how many of the current military would actually kill their own... or would they cross over.
Regardless of who is doing what, you gotta admire the citizens for standing up to their corrupt government WITH STICKS & STONES.
If Dancing with The Stars & major league sports didn't exist you'd see more of that here in the US.

Sports are vast government conspiracy invented by the Romans to keep the populace entertained so they don't cause trouble...or so my father-in-law says. I think they were simply invented by men to satisfy our urge to compete and so we have a chance to beat the hell out of each other without getting in trouble.

Hey Ahmed I have a great idea, lets stand in the street and throw rocks at people.
But what if a car comes?
Why would someone drive in the street?
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

I would hope the military would support the citizens of Egypt or stand aside at the worst. Either way, I think it would be over by now if the citizenry were armed.
