Alright. So now we have a nice IWB setup, gun is nicely hidden and easy to get to. But what about ammo? Sure, you can wear a belt rig that will carry 2 spare mags or a few speedloaders.
But 1) are there legal no-nos if just ammo is visible? Can you get in trouble for potentially starting a panic?
2) you are showing everyone (including any wacko badguys in the crowd) that you are carrying.
Can we get some educated replies to the above? Also, how do you carry spare ammo? I just made up a few leather belt accessories to carry revolver speed strips. Don't have the bulk of a round speedloader and blend in nicely.

Although I only have smi- autos, I use an old nylon leatherman pouch to carry a spare magazine in. It has a Velcro flap over it, an if someone sees it all they really see is a black nylon pouch with a leatherman logo, so what will John Q. Public think ? They will think I have a leatherman multi tool on my belt of course.

I carry speed strips, but keep them in my front left pocket with nothing else in there. I like you leather work looks good. I hated carrying the HKS speed loaders too bulky

I just throw an extra mag in my coat pocket or cargo pants pocket or... (whatever I'm wearing) Never an issue.

Revolver:Speed strips in right front pocket.

Automatic: Not really sure, I've done the left front pocket, left rear pocket with wallet, but would rather carry on belt somehow, but just haven't figured it out yet. I don't normally carry my semi-auto. (yet)

I have a spare mag in a Blackhawk mag holder. I carry IWB with an unstucked shirt to it is no problem.

In an altoid can? Are you worried about BG's with x-ray vision?

Seems like an unnecessary extra step if you have to retrieve your backup ammo in a high stress situation.

I used to have issues with the ammo coming out of the speed strips. The can eliminates the problem and fits two speed strips like they were meant to be there. While it does slightly slow the reload, if we are honest with ourselves, we are not going to be reloading a revolver without cover anyway so the difference is inconsequential. YMMV.

I have a sidearmor spare mag carrier.

works great but the mag is totally visible.

to keep carrying at school I'm going to get a wilderness mag carrier that has a flap on it.

I use the Fobus Paddle Single Mag holder, quick and easy if I need the backup. My shirt covers it nicely without any issues. I'd suppose if it became exposed and someone saw it, if they even could make out what it was, I think seeing an exposed handgun would be more recognizable to them but if they felt uncomfortable they could call the police and say I believe this guy is carrying a gun and police come...

1)they check you for a permit and send you on your way

2)give you a ticket for menacing
