It seems as me and a few members are going to head up and shoot this weekend. Anybody and everybody who wants to come is welcome.

I thought I would start a thread just for this so we do not clutter up the official COAR15 shoot which is on 4-08-06 at ST Vrains canyon. I figured it might cause some confusion if we keep posting in that thread about a different date and place.

I am thinking who ever wants to go we could meet at 285 and simms. If your headed south (its actually west on 285) just as you pass simms and go under it there is plenty of room to pull over and meet.

I am thinking 10 am to meet unless others want to change that.

where is harris park

It is about 12 miles north of Bailey when you hit the top of crow hill you head north. It is not very far, from simms and 285 it is probably about 45-50 miles just guessing.

Yeah but so far it sounds like late in the day we can go a little earlier if need be so we are done shooting before the weather comes.

I just bought a P22 for my wife. If she doesn't go, I will have to "test" out the new toy.

You always have to do a safety check for the little lady, that's just basic chivalry.

I've heard Saturday afternoon that rain was coming. I'm willing to get in a couple of hours of shooting.

Ok I will see everyone that is going 10am at the Diamond Shamrock gas station at C470 and Quincy.

I would like to take off at 10am worst case 10:15 so try and be there on time. Just want to make sure we get all the shooting we want in before the weather go's to hell in the late afternoon.

We need a head count to make sure we don't leave anybody behind.

EDIT to add: Marlin if you want to shoot your BP let me know I will bring my BP bag. Also if you would please bring your camera stand im going to bring my chrony.

Marlin

I was amazed how the weather was creeping in around us but held off where we were shooting. Once I got the scope adjusted to the right, the .308 puts bullets where the crosshairs say they'll go.

Thanks to Marlin for letting me try out his Glock 20.

I had a great time! :D

Other than those last couple of miles getting there, that is a nice place. I'll admit that I did lock in the 4WD, Other than that one spot I don't think I really needed it that much. I'd be willing to go there again. :D

I think I concur. How long did it take to get there? 45 minutes to an hour and some light wheeling beats the hell out of 2 hours each way to WP or Lyons for me.

I think a number of people wouldn't be able to make the Harris Park location. The 4 wheel drive might not be necessary (I did use mine), but you'd better have some ground clearance.

Haha, probably. I did learn that getting totally wasted really isn't worth the time and effort it takes to deal with and recover from. Slept in my truck at the light rail station for four hours before I drove home, and then slept for about 7 more hours. That, after spending about $35 on booze and $15 on covers. Not worth it, IMO.

Just wait 'til you get a little older. If I drank as much as I did in college, it would literally kill me.;)
