Hi all,

It was suggested I make an intro thread. So here I am.

New to shooting, but not to forums... Moved to Colorado Springs from Southern California.

Cars are my big money pit, here are some pictures (because who doesn't like pictures?):
1998 M3:

and the hood, before I made it a little more subtle...

So far the collection only includes a Rem 870, but I'm planning on adding to that as funds allow... A few friends back in CA are responsible for getting me hooked after they all built their own AR's, and we've been out shooting them a few times, which I really enjoyed. I keep going back and forth between getting a bolt gun or something semi-auto first, mostly hinging on what I'm going to end up doing with it. I'd love to get into 3 gun, may start off with shotgun games since I already own one. Also picking up my grandpa's old .22 rifle next month, my uncle has had it in his garage since grandpa passed, but doesn't use it and is letting me bring it back, clean it up, and try it out.

I'm planning on joining one of the clubs out east of town (I'm actually just outside of town too) Pikes Peak Gun Club, Ben Lamond, or Frontier Sportsman.
Thoughts/questions/comments welcome. Great site, I enjoy visiting.

David

Welcome, David. Finally escaped from So Cal, eh? I "made the break" back in '77. North County San Diego... still have family there. I bitch to 'em about the snow and send them photos of it, too. That scares 'em and that keeps 'em from moving here [Muaha]!!

Welcome.

Glad you got out of SoCal alive. We'll be along shortly to remove the brainwashing they gave you.

Repeat after me: Firearms are good. Firearms don't hurt people - whackos hurt people.

Keep repeating that for a few days and you should be a-ok.

Ha! My parents still live in Orange County, and they swear I'm no longer their son... Bought a Jeep, bought a gun, live on some land, drove in the snow, etc. Haha. At least south Orange County where I grew up is basically a very crowded version of Colorado, but with no snow... Even the Orange County Register was started by the family that ran the Gazette.

But all that aside, I must say I really like being here a lot more!

Welcome.

And I find that cwripinz and I have more in common...I went to High School in San Diego North County. Carlsbad, to be exact...

Welcome.. and AMG > M

Well everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I like to drive my cars. If I wanted to do 200 mph on the freeway, then maybe you'd be right ;)

I highly recommended them to my aging father though! [Beer]

Welcome and hope you enjoy the Springs!
And good luck building your collection. I pick up my next piece tonight, and my wife's new one next week I hope.

Finally made it out to Dragonmans just to check the place out today. Wind and rain weren't exactly ideal, but still had some fun. The place was... interesting. Not really what I was looking for. Hoping to go out to the Izaak Walton range next weekend, they have a CMP match Sunday and I'm hoping to check the place out at least.

Anyone a member of frontier sportsman club? I'd love a chance to check out the grounds there some time as well.
