View Full Version : Is Denver not friendly to shooters?

I could use some help finding a place to shoot in Denver.

I've found plenty of gun clubs where application and membership fees are required, and many of those aren't accepting new members. I find something profoundly distasteful about shooting clubs anyway. I'm hoping to find a shooting range, you go there, pays your money, and shoot until you don't feel like it anymore.

It also seems as if one wishes to compete in any sort of competition, 3 gun, SASS etc, one has to be a member of a club.

I'm just a little confused, I'm not from here and the shooting environment seems to be a great deal more exclusive than it was in Texas.

Regards.

If you are into 3 gun talk to Alan Samuel he is into that big time. He has his own board on here or you could go to machineguntours.com. Alan could get you hooked up with what you are looking for. Same with IDPA and such ask Alan.

Edit to add: If you want a place to just shoot then take marlins advice and come to a club shoot.

we just had a 3 gun match today out at the Aurora Gun Club.

You don't need to be a member to shoot in these!

take a look down the main forum list for shooting events/comps.. your're more than welcome to come on out.

You DO NOT need 'high speed' gear.
look at it as an opprotunity to hone your skills with what you got.
you can have fun!

Yes, Denver sucks to shoot if you are going to depend on clubs, private and public ranges.
It's hard to get into a club and if you do you have to deal with all the infighting, backstabbing, rules, fees and BS.
Our group sticks to the woods.

If you want to just go shoot, there are a few indoor ranges here in the Metro Area. The Silver Bullet in North Denver, The Shootist in South Metro and the Firing Line in Aurora. Shout me if you want to go bust a couple of rounds. I'm game, hell, I'm a reformed Texan as well.
