One of my fellow Instructors called me this a.m. and asked what I knew about Stoeger shotguns. They need some new shotguns at Scout camp and he thinks these are affordable. I have no experience with them and reviews are mixed on the internet. Any one have any real experience with them ? I'd appreciate your feedback-Thanks [Beer]

I have a model 2000 that is my "go to" shotgun for just about everything. I love it. I own nicer, more expensive shotguns but somehow I always end up reaching for this one. I have many, many rounds through it and have had zero malfunctions. That being said, I have no experience with their pump shotguns and I wouldn't take a gamble on one of their over/unders.

I've got a sxs 12g that I've had for a few years now and my girlfriend has an over/under 20g. We've shot a few thousand rounds of sporting clays through them without any problems. I think they are well made but not the prettiest guns on the market. I've never tried a pump or autoloader

Made in Turkey and imported if io remember right. They work but for the money some youth model 870s from walmart or some single shot New Englands or H&Rs would probably work too. Those single shots are cheap safe and damn near indestructable.

Thanks guys-We've been using the 870's ever since I can remember. The last 2 seasons we've had rails breaking on them and before that-never. QC may have taken a downturn ? Thanks for the feedback [Beer]

People seem to have very mixed experiences with Stoegers, and at least part of the reason for that is the numerous manufacturers that Stoeger has imported from.

There were some Stoeger SxSs that were built by a very reputable Spanish maker, and these are worth a great deal more than asking price. I think they were called the Uplander Deluxe.

Some of the O/Us and pumps can be iffy, but for every person that has nothing but problems, there are two who consider them a go-to gun.

Yeah I did that and came up with about 50-50 on them. [Beer]

I have a double 20 that is a great home defense weapon with the 18" length. Buy with confidence.
