Are the glock holsters interchangeable with XDs?

Not the ones that I've tried. If I remember correctly the front of the trigger guard on a XD is a little longer.

the slides are a different profile...XD's have a bigger slide and so they don't really fit into a holster specifically for a glock

If you are really set on using the holster you can always reform it to fit the xd. Get the holster damp not dripping wet. Put your oiled pistol in the holster with saran wrap on it use your fingers to start pushing the leather into the new shape it will take some effort. When the basic shape is formed use a "boning tool" I used the grey end of a sharpie and the handle of a butter knife to mold it to fit the lines of the xd how well you form the leather to the gun decides retention. When you feel it is tight enough let the leather dry for 3 or 4 hours with the gun in, it will shrink a bit. After the dry time remove the pistol and set the holster aside for at least 24 hrs. make sure to clean the gun and re oil to make sure that no moisture is present. put it on and check retention. if it is too tight a few unholster and rehoslter cycles will get it where it needs to be if it is too loose than you did not form it well enough to the gun.
