I was looking at Duluths site today and have heard that their fire hose pants are darn near indestructible. does anyone on here wear them while carrying? How is the comfort level?

I don't personally yet, but I'm dropping pounds and will be getting a few here in about a month or so. My buddy does however, and loves them. First off, the pockets are about an inch or more deeper than the normal walmart Levis and Wranglers I wear, so that's a bonus for when I pocket carry. But the biggest thing my buddy raves constantly about is the "ball-room" feature. He now won't wear anything else.

I'm another one with zero experience with these pants, but thanks for mentioning them, seems they would be excellent pants for wearing around in the back country, i've torn a couple pairs of pants on tree branches hiking around.

there ok, they were made in Mexico now they are made in China, really stiff and sizing order 1 size up, they fit tight. I wear a 38"x34" had to good up to a 42"x 34" because they were so damn tight and stiff.

so for a 32x36 waist order a 36x36 for room and CCW?

I have 2 pair, one fire hose and one denim, yes good for carry. Nothing low rise about them. Good old fashion old man cut. I wouldn't consider the fabric stiff, but thick. Deep pockets are a definite plus. I especially like the reinforced cuff. Sizing was fine for me, not my first gusseted pants (try Wrangler Riggs). The more expensive Ballroom denim is made in USA but you pay an extra $20.
I want to try some of the "ballroom" pants. The commercials are hilarious.

More gusseted crotches...http://www.gussetclothing.com/
They used to advertise on G. Gordon Liddy show. Haven't tried these but apparently you can even order them in Kevlar motorcycle pants. Made in America.

Back in my rock climbing days, before harnesses, we used to tie a swami seat. Called them a cheap motel. No ballroom.

OK, just got 2 pair of Duluth jeans in today. The ball room part? Oh, so very very worth it. Sizing is basically dead on. Pocket length is great. The overall fit below the waist is nice and roomy, so very easy to slide in a pocket gun without an outline. The depth of the pockets are very generous compared to the typical Walmart/Target Levi's and Wranglers that make up my current wardrobe.
However, don't expect to be very fashionable. Very old and plain styling. If they were on a shelf in the store, I'd probably not even give them a second look. No problem if you're already married and not out to impress anyone.
I've sewn in pocket extensions on two pairs of my pants already because I can't stand shallow pockets. Actually, I didn't like the cut of the pocket and changed it, then needed more pocket room.
I own a ton of Duluth products. Their jeans are basically like everyone else's except with more room in the crotch. Their fire hose pants come in two main types. One, Fire Hose Jeans, is just like Carhart pants. The other, Fire Hose Work Pants, are double layered. I only own one pair of them, they are actually softer than the Fire Hose Jeans, but obviously, twice as heavy. They are twice as hot in the summer as well. I've cut through some of the fibers of the Fire Hose Jeans, but never cut all the way through the fabric. The Fire Hose Work pants look like brand new.
I wear their pants daily. My favorite are actually their "every day work pants". They are more a slacks type pant with extra pockets. They have worn very well, however they won't hold up like the Fire Hose pants do. I also love their "Lifetime Belt" it's substantial! It also has a solid brass buckle which won't set off the metal detectors in airports. Unlike their "Get's Better with Age" belt, which WILL set off metal detectors.
