I've been trading away to upgrade to a nice big game rifle. As how these things go, the place was busy and as I waited, I decided to compare a couple scopes. I mounted them both on one of those rifle stocks and continued to compare them for over an hour. Inside and outside. I just couldnt believe with both adjusted to my eye, that I kept finding myself liking the Leupold better. The Leupold was about $70 cheaper and had the long range duplex, both good bargaining chips. The truth was I just kept finding the Leupold more forgiving when shouldering in a hurry. The Ziess would sometimes blur around the edges. I was torn on which to buy.
Finally I remembered back last summer when I had won a complete Leupold spotting scope set up at the Rocky Mtn 300 match. This was donated by Leupold. I do not recall anything there donated by Ziess.
