Zero Question??

I'm getting a new rifle. It's a Remington 700 XCR 300 Ultra Mag. It's at the gunsmith getting a couple of inches cut off the barrel, Holland muzzle brake, barrel flaoted, pillar bedded and a trigger job. There is a Leupold VX-3 4 1/2x14x50 waiting for it when it comes home. I'm stoked and I'm like a little kid waiting on Christmas morning.

When I go to the range, I always just use a bipod and shoot from the shoulder. This has always worked for me but I want to do a little better with this rifle.

What kind of bench or rest do you guys recommend? Any input would be very appreciated!

Bipod or bag on front under the forearm and an old GI sock filled with peat gravel under the buttstock.

I use a bipod and an old GI sock filled with rice. I would zero it however you are going to shoot it. If your gonna shoot off a bench all the time, zero from there. If your gonna shoot prone with a bipod, zero from there.

I zero with either a sandbag or my pack under the front. I use a smallsand bag under the rear sometimes. I usually try to zero how I plan to shoot it. Not a fan of bipods for zeroing. They tend to move on a bench or table. On bigger calibers like .300WM or in your case .300 UM it will move a bunch.
