So I went ahead and ordered a jse surplus receiver to put on my plumb crazy lower. Anyone have any experience with these uppers. Paid $ 350 for it. They are on sale till tomorrow.[M2]

There's a guy on ARFCOM from the Springs that used one of those for a build. He's supposed to do a follow up this week on how it ran. I'm getting ready to do a build and was waiting for some reviews on these uppers. [Beer]

I might be the "guy" on ARFCOM. The guy I'm going shooting with was moving last weekend so the review will be posted this Sunday night. It is a review of their 7" pistol upper ($365) if you want to look it up on ARFCOM. Their products look great and somebody else posted on my thread that it shot fine. I will be posting some groupings as well. I'll also be sighting in a new 7.62 upper, a 1891/30, and my new Nikon scope on my 20" RRA A2 as well that day so look out.

Of course I feel at home here[Coffee]. So we went out shooting on Saturday. It was cold and windy as s**t out there, 15-20 mph crosswind. Blocked some with the truck. The JSE shot very well, once I got the red dot sighted in. It was pretty hard with that wind. It was blowing me around, hard to keep it on a 12" target at 50yds. I had some slight ejection problems. Not short cycling or anything like that. It just needs to be broken in some more. I'm going to put a #60 o-ring in and see if that helps. I could probably take it out after 100rds or so. If not I have a spare (new) RRA chrome BCG up in the safe I might use. Had so much stuff with me I forgot my spare parts kit. I'll probably buy/build another one from them later but in A2 styling. I'll post again and let you guys know about round #2 this week. I have pictures posted on ARFCOM in the pistol section if ya want to see it, unless you want me to post some here as well, I didn't know the rules on that. Look under JSE complete 7" upper, on ARFCOM.

Pictures are always good and allowed.

Very interested in hearing about round #2 and would love to hear feedback/review from the OP as well.

Spikes lower, Del-Ton LPK, RRA pistol tube with heavy CAR buffer, Cheap Tasco red-dot sight (it is actually not that bad, for now) JSE 7" upper with YHM free float HG's.

This thing is great to shoot. Some people said noise and muzzle flash were an issue, I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Using XM193. I might buy another one for my left hand:D From what others have posted these seem like a mix of parts. None bad it seems. It looks like when they run out of one part, i.e. gas block, they will use a comparable part from a different manufacture to get them out the door. I had one on order from RRA but after talking to them about lead times I canceled. I figured for $200 less I could start with this and see If I like the AR pistol platform (I do!). They also had this to me in 3 days from time of order, minus a weekend and a holiday. Also see my post above.

Got my jse upper yesterday. I ended up upgrading to the chrome bcg, magpul handgaurd and four rail gas block. Total was $408.00. Slight scratch on the barrel from when they installed the gas block not bad. The barrel finish is a little flatter than the receiver. Other than that looks good. My sights didn't arrive yet so will just put some rounds through it to see how it cycles. Will update after shooting. Will post some pics when I get home

Round #2. So I put in the o-ring to help with the extractor (#60, pack of 10, at homedepot $2.50). Holy crap. It's like a whole new gun. With XM193, not one FTF,FTE, every one chambered. I went through about 200 rds yesterday. With the XM193 ammo, I couldn't notice it but my buddies could, 8-10 inches in front of the barrel a large flash from the ammo. Pretty cool I must say. At 100 yds, with a red dot, we were picking off 4x4 tiles. Not bad with a cheap red dot (poor glass), it was way better at 50 yds. The only thing I noticed was it would not chamber my reloads. It would completely jamb up the last 1/4 inch or so, I would have to hold it by the charging handle and wack it with a rubber mallet on the buffer tube (try THAT with a rifle) to pull the round out. Happened with the first two reloads so I quit trying those. They work fine in the AR they were shot out of before so I might just have to adjust the die (yes, it is a full size die) or just keep these separate as reloads. I also did try some BVAC ammo. Towards the end of the day, maybe 1 out of 15 would jamb up like that (BVAC are reloaded Lake City). It might just like XM193. Oh, well, I just bought a case from AIM last week so I'm GTG for those. For those that care I also got my 7.62 upper dialed in. At 100 yds we were picking off cartridge cases on top of the target board. It was a good day.

EDIT: It was my dies. I changed from reloading 38's to .223 and I must have moved the resizing die. I tried some of my older reloads and they load fine. It was only the last 200 or so, damnit

I have one of the JSE Custom 16" uppers. I got a few of the free upgrades that they offered last year.

I have been very pleased with this upper. I threw about 800 rounds down the pipe with zero issues.

Last year they were selling these for $285 shipped when I got mine.

Overall pretty descent upper for the money in my opinion.

got too run about a 100 roundso through mine yesterday. I was using hot shot ss 109 had some issues it would fire a round but had problems extracting it. It was actually ripping the lip off the brass. Had to use a cleaning rod to remove the shell. And it was in there tight. Did that pry 6 times. It was like the brass was expanding. Tried some of my buddies reloads with no problems
