The only trend I see is when I have cash (now) their is nothing that interests me, but if I spend that money today tomorrow their will be 45 Glocks! Also I can post wanting either an Aimpoint or Eotech and nothing, but 3 hours after I buy new their will be 3-4 ads selling them! [Rant1] So I am gonna stash the cash and as a scientific experiment see how long it takes for cool stuff to pop up.

Wow, yes it is rare, but you can't turn coal into diamond no matter how hard you squeeze it in your hands.
BTW, I call first dibs on the OD G20 if you decide to sell/trade it for a reasonable price. always wanted a 20, and to get my hands on an OD one would be cool.

I Love how people try selling used stuff for new or more than new retail price.
So I bought this [GUN] at Gander mountain for $550+Tax and I got a Holster and spare mag and ammo.. was all about 800 out the door. Asking $750
wut?
And whats with all of the silly reqs for a sale? Do you REALLY need to see a CCW for a rifle?
21+ for rifle?
Really?
if that's the case I Have an ad for you:
FS/FT Tactical toilet tissue.
I think I paid about $6.00 + S&H
I also have a High Capacity Magazine for it.
only used once at range.
Asking $20.00 FTF must have bill of sale, Letter from your Mom, CCW and CDL.

I don't get people selling used Glocks for more than they cost new. And I really don't get why people are buying them.

Some people price their guns from gun broker where their are guys with very high prices, Most of us do not buy from these sellers but find better prices. Sellers like to use gunbroker to price their guns so that they can try and get the most for them. The high prices guns usually do not sell.. so why care? Maybe the seller s are putting in room for negotiation or have lots of extras or ammo they are throwing in.
Point is, if the price is too high.. it won't sell. When it doesn't sell they drop the price or remove the sale.
I'm betting you want to buy these guns but at a discount price. ;)
Then there are always the people who buy something and because they owned it, now it is worth more.... we call these horse traders.

Yeah, I commented on the $750 Glock in the BYPC thread, quite ridiculous for sure.

I wouldn't mind buying a G19 at a reasonable price, no.
But I'm not going to pay $600 for a used gun when a new one costs $500. And you know what? It sold in hours. Of course no one mentions the price, but I was attempting to bargain with the guy and he quit responding. Next thing I knew it was sold. Oh well, I don't need it anyway.
AND Mr. [Bang] was in there minutes after the seller posted it sold, lamenting how he didn't get in on it in time.
The only reason people are asking so much is because people are paying it for some dumb reason.

If you price from Gunbroker, be a member so you can search the last 90 days. There is usually a wide gap between some some of the hopeful asking prices and what they sell for. Look at sold prices, add a bit that the buyers would pay for shipping and FFL and you have a reasonable price that should sell. Many of the unsold guns on GB have been there forever, being relisted again & again. Sort like the FS guns here with 500 bumps.
Of course if my wife pressured me into selling my Sig's I'd be asking $5000 per gun.
Steve
i don't know how people sell guns used for so much compared to new. i know a lot of people throw in extras, but there has been a few times i sold used guns that were in almost brand new condition with all kinds of extras (mags, holsters, cases, slings, etc) and still sell them like 150-200 below new price. and even at that price it took a long time to sell. i wish i could get lucky and make a profit on my used guns!
Yep, so rare that Bud's decided to toss em out for $379 shipped a few months back.
Dam[Bang] That was just the 357 sig, right? or I would have bought a couple.
The price is what people will pay, not what the seller wants. I look at most FS posts as an online auction. I know what I want and it is up to me to do the research and determine what I'm willing to pay. The only hard part is being online when the item comes up for a price I think is fair. If I'm not willing to pay the asking price, I just hope (silently, without posting) that the item will drop into my price range.
I've gotten some very nice deals here and met some great guys. I hope everyone is satisfied with what they got when they sold something to me. I know that I am satisfied with everything that I have purchased.
Some of the things I am looking for either have never shown up on this forum or when they have they aren't offered at a price I'm willing to pay. Someone else has been willing to pay the asking price, therefore I am still looking for those items.
I will say, I absolutely like dealing with the people on this board more than any gun store I've ever been in. I hope that doesn't change.
